Well I did enjoy Maximum Overdrive when I saw it before..though I fully admit isn't that great of a movie...it's one of the bad ones I like.

I will be looking forward to what you think of the Amityville remake! :)

Hit the Jackpot at the local Ingles video store.

I picked up Rock N' Rolla, Street Kings, and Righteous Kill for $3 each.

I don't know if there is one near you... but you should check out Big Lots. I have seen movies there (brand new) for $3 each and TV Seasons for only $6. I went there not earlier this month and got...

- April Fool's Day (2008) $3
- Night Court: Season 1 $6
- Tracey Takes On: Season 1 $3
- The War at Home: Season 1 $6

That is quite a bit of entertainment for only $18!

Yeah, I have a couple of Big Lots stores here. I have bought several singles and 2- packs from them. Their movie selection here seems to come and go, but I haven't been there in a while. I need to go check it out.

I went to one of the local pawn shops today and picked up Outland and Planet Terror for $2 each on DVD. Outland was a blind buy, but I always wanted to see it for some reason. I figured for $2 why not.  ::)

Is Sean Connery in Outland?  If he is, then I saw that years ago and enjoyed it..though I could be thinking of something else.

Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles (Season 2, 2008)
R1-US Warner (Sep 22, 2009)

It didn't really register with me until now that this is a full season, meaning 20 episodes. Oops. Wonder how well that works or if I become tired of it.

As I said in the other thread... my package from Achim arrived today! And he sent me some very good titles. Most of which I never seen before... but heard a lot of good things about.

The titles I put in BOLD I never seen before.

The Wicker Man
Original version... never seen it but heard good things and been wanting to check it out!

Day of the Dead
Woohoo! This one is an upgrade from the version I have... an upgrade I was wanting to make anyway! I always liked this movie!

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2
I didn't mark this as never seen even though I don't remember ever seeing it. I have a feeling I will remember it once I watch it... as I must have seen it before. I used to seek out these movies when I was a teen.

Raging Bull
Never seen it... but heard great things about it!

The Road Warrior
I am marking this one as unseen as I really don't think I did... but it is possible I am just not remembering it from my teen years or something. I will know better once I watch it.

The Wild Bunch
Since I just got into Westerns... it is no surprise I never seen this one.

Deliverance
Another one I never seen... though I heard a lot of good things about it.

Full Metal Jacket
Heard of it... never saw it. Brother told me I need to watch it soon!

Dead Set
The only one I knew was coming in advance. Looking forward to finally seeing this series.

From Beyond
I seen this one mentioned around on forums and such before... but really don't know anything about it.

Wow! what a selection! And half of them just right for next month's horror marathon! I so can't wait to check these out! Thanks again Achim! Looks to be an awesome selection!

 :thanks:
Pete

The movie I hate the most in this franchise (yeah I know I've the 2 dvd released of it ), not serious and uninteresting (but some nice kill in it, but I ain't sure if this dvd is uncut)

Full Metal Jacket
Heard of it... never saw it. Brother told me I need to watch it soon!
Great movie it's just sad that the second part of it isn't as much interesting than the beginning. I've seen it the first time when I was doing my millitary training, a fact that help to understand my love of it.

Dead Set
The only one I knew was coming in advance. Looking forward to finally seeing this series.
I'm waiting for your review in october, since I will not watch it before the end of the marathon.

Wow, Achim, that's a generous package! Erm... I mean, the one you, er, sent to Pete...

Five (count 'em!) are amongst the greatest films ever made! Deliverance is a classic and suitable for your horror run, Pete. There are no monsters, but it's a psychological story and very powerful. Raging Bull? I'm not surprised you've heard good things! Possibly Scorcese's finest film. And the Wicker Man, my you have been spoiled...

I definitely feel spoiled! And thanks for the heads up on Deliverance. :)

@Jimmy...
Maybe that is the reason I don't remember TCM2... but come on... worse then TCM: The Next Generation? :P And of course you will be seeing my review for Dead Set. Will be looking forward to seeing it... probably early part of the month.

Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation isn't too bad, maybe a little bit over-acted (ok, way overact ) but not as bad as TCM 2.

I would buy a special edition with a commentary from Renée Zellweger and Matthew McConaughey of it immediatly. But I don't hold my breath for this, since The Day the Clown Cried and an uncut version of The Devils had more chance to be released than this.

Well... I admit it has been a long time since I seen The Next Generation... but for some reason it always stuck in my head as not very enjoyable. :P

I assume that includes Full Metal Jacket and Wild Bunch besides Raging Bull. What are they other 2? Never been a Kubrick fan myself, he has a prominent spot on my "overrated" list. And Wild Bunch? Has been ages since I've seen it, but I probably would put something like The Proposition ahead of it. Not to mention that I'm generally more interested in a different kind of westerns anyway.

Got both fairly cheap at Walmart.
