Dean Martin & Jerry Lewis (1950/United States)
IMDb | Wikipedia

Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis made their television debut on Ed Sullivan's Toast of the Town in June 1948. They were, in many respects, the perfect comedy team. Martin's good looks and smooth baritone balanced Lewis' impishness and frantic comedy. They appeared for six seasons, on a rotating basis on the Colgate Comedy Hour,

WITH SPECIAL GUEST ROSEMARY CLOONEY
Mellow Dean sings, Zany Jerry clowns and Rosemary sings two of her all-time hits. In a hilarious skit, it’s Dean’s wedding day an Jerry is the private detective hired to protect the wedding gifts.

WITH SPECIAL GUEST BURT LANCASTER
In this program Dean and Jerry are joined by Burt Lancaster. Dean sings and Jerry clowns as only they can and Burt Lancaster is an escapee from an insane asylum.

Stars:
Dean Martin
Jerry Lewis
Burt Lancaster
Rosemary Clooney
The Skylarks
Sidney Sillman

Extras:
  • Scene Access
  • Production Notes

My Thoughts:
I felt like a little classic television so I decided to pop in one of my Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis Show DVDs. This show was also known as The Colgate Comedy Hour. And it definitely had some laughs in it. But it also has quite a bit of music in it as well. A little too much for my taste. But that is ok... because there is enough good comedy in it to still make it worth watching for me. Being on one of those public domain releases I really wasn't expecting much quality wise... but I was pleasantly surprised. There was a few problems here and there... but for the most part it was more then watchable.

Jennifer Morrison as Dr. Allison Cameron

My Thoughts:
This completes the first season. I really enjoyed watching this set. Seems I found another great medical drama to get into. House is the type of character that I couldn't stand at first. I felt like slapping him upside the head. But he quickly grew on me... and before I knew it I was loving his antics. If there is one thing I would have changed about this set... is that it is on 3 double sided discs instead of 6 single sided discs. I just never cared much for those duel sided discs. Thankfully they corrected this for the second season. I would have to say that I think my favorite episode on this disc would have to be Three Stories. I liked it because it told a bit of background on what is wrong with House's leg... and it is done in a fun way. Honeymoon... the season finale... was also pretty good. I found it funny that House's ex-girlfriend now has a job in the hospital. That should make things interesting for the next season.

My Thoughts:
A good start to the second season. Though a couple of the episodes on this disc is a little more on the average side... I really enjoyed the other two. If I had to pick a favorite episode on this disc I would have to go with Autopsy. I really liked the little girl in that episode. Very brave kid... and pretty slick to... being able to steal her first kiss from one of the doctors.

My Thoughts:
while I am still enjoying the series a lot... the episodes on this disc weren't quite up to the standard I have gotten used to on this show. I think my favorite episode on this disc would have to be The Mistake... as I really liked how they handled this episode. I normally don't care for the use of flashbacks... but it was handled pretty good in this episode. I did enjoy the episode Daddy's Boy as well.

Miguel Ferrer as Jonas Bledsoe
Chris Bowers as Will Anthros
Molly Price as Ruth Truewell
Will Yun Lee as Jae Kim

Extras:
  • Audio Commentary
  • Bonus Trailers

My Thoughts:
After watching many of the original Bionic Woman episode... I just had the urge to watch the  newer series again. So popped in the first disc today. As much as I love the original series... I also enjoy this one. But for different reasons. For the most part over-all I liked how they updated this series... sure it was far from perfect. But I believe if they would have given it more of a chance and tweaked it here and there... they could have had a winning series here. But of course instead they were too quick to cancel it instead. The entire series is only eight episodes! I like who they chose to play Jaime Somers. Though I am really not familiar with her... as this is the only thing in my entire collection I have with her in it! I also liked the fact that they gave her a little sister... and I think the actress they got to play her (Lucy Hale)... she seemed to do a great job. Though once again... this is the only thing I have with her in it as well.

I enjoyed watching this series again. If you count the original airing this is the fourth time I seen these episodes. I will have to be sure to watch the other disc again within the next couple days... as I have gotten into the storylines once again. I always wanted Jaime to tell her sister about her bionics... but I just can't remember if they got to that before the series was canceled.

The last episode on this disc... WISHFUL THINKING is also enjoyable... though this one is done mostly for laughs and has a lot of silly parts in it.

Lisa Edelstein as Dr. Lisa Cuddy
Omar Epps as Dr. Eric Foreman
Robert Sean Leonard as Dr. James Wilson

My Thoughts:
Another disc worth of good episodes. There is a couple familiar faces in these episodes. First is Cynthia Nixon (Sex and the City) in Deception. She plays the woman they believe to have Munchausen syndrome. Then in the next episode... Failure to Communicate... we have Mimi Kennedy (Dharma & Greg). who plays the patient's boss... as the attack happens at an office party. Of the episodes on this disc I would have to say my favorite episode would have to be Deception.

Omar Epps as Dr. Eric Foreman
Robert Sean Leonard as Dr. James Wilson
Jennifer Morrison as Dr. Allison Cameron

Extras:

My Thoughts:
This disc is filled with excellent episodes. I really enjoyed every one of them. There was even a couple faces I am familiar with in a couple of the episodes. First in Skin Deep there is Cameron Richardson who was in the short lived series Point Pleasant. Next in Sex Kills we have Howard Hesseman who played Charlie Moore in the series Head of the Class. Then finally in Safe there was Michelle Trachtenberg who was Dawn Summer (Buffy's sister) in Buffy the Vampire Slayer. If I had to pick a favorite episode on this disc... I would have to go with Safe. That episode just went in so many directions before getting to the true answer you couldn't help but to get lost in the episode.

I would have to go with The Adhesive Duck Deficiency... if for no other reason it was hysterical seeing Sheldon having to deal with an injured and nude Penny.

House M.D.: Season Three: Disc 1 (2006/United States)

Lisa Edelstein as Dr. Lisa Cuddy
Omar Epps as Dr. Eric Foreman
Robert Sean Leonard as Dr. James Wilson
Jennifer Morrison as Dr. Allison Cameron

Extras:
  • Bonus Trailers
  • Alternate Take: Angry Valley Girl Version

My Thoughts:
Season three really starting off with a bang. Every episode on this disc is extremely good. This disc had me completely hooked over the last couple days. Surprisingly out of the five episodes on this first disc there was no guest stars that I am familiar with. It is really hard trying to pick a favorite episode off this disc since they are all so great. But if you were to force me to pick one... I guess I would have to go with Cane & Able... if for no other reason I liked the whole abducted by aliens storyline. This is also the episode that has the alternate scene of the two female cast members (Lisa Edelstein as Dr. Lisa Cuddy & Jennifer Morrison as Dr. Allison Cameron) having some fun doing one of their scenes together like valley girls. That is a bonus feature that is definitely worth a laugh. I hope if I get season 4 soon that I will get some more of those valley girl scenes.

Enjoyed this disc full of episodes very much. A lot of laugh out loud moments here. Some familiar faces appearing on this disc as well. First there is Katee Sackoff from Battlestar Galactica. Then there was Danica McKellar from The Wonder Years, In another episode there is Yeardely Smith who voices Lisa on The Simpsons. And finally of course Stan Lee. Once again it is pretty difficult picking a favorite episode on this disc... but if forced to I guess I would go with The Excelsior Acquisition.

House M.D.: Season Three: Disc 2 (2006/United States)

"Que Será Será"
Appearances can be deceiving, especially when a 600-pound man refuses to believe that his recent coma has anything to do with his weight.

"Son of a Coma Guy"
Family ties are being tested when House awakens a man who’s been in a coma for ten years in order to uncover what might be ailing his son.

"Finding Judas"

"Merry Little Christmas"
It’s the time for peace and goodwill to all, but House feels none of it when he discovers that Wilson has ratted his Vicodin problem to Detective Tritter.

Stars:
Hugh Laurie as Dr. Gregory House
Lisa Edelstein as Dr. Lisa Cuddy
Omar Epps as Dr. Eric Foreman
Robert Sean Leonard as Dr. James Wilson
Jennifer Morrison as Dr. Allison Cameron

Extras:
  • None

My Thoughts:
While I am still enjoying this series quite a bit... the episodes on this disc didn't impress me nearly as much as the ones on the last disc. This whole storyline of the detective going after House has gotten pretty old pretty fast. Thankfully we are at the tail end of that storyline. Checking DVD Profiler... the detective is in only one more episode. If I was to pick a favorite episode on this disc. To be honest I am really not sure which I would pick. They are all pretty standard episodes... all seem to just be a vehicle to advance the detective storyline. But if I was forced to pick one... I guess I would go with Finding Judas. As that was the most interesting medical case of the bunch.
