Facts of Life: Seasons 1 & 2 (Disc 4)
A spin-off of the tremendously popular "Diff'rent Strokes," THE FACTS OF LIFE is the hilarious series that follows housemother Mrs. Edna Garrett (Charlotte Rae) and her mission to instill values in the girls of Eastland School. The large first season cast included John Lawlor, Jenny O'Hara, Lisa Whelchel, Felice Schachter, Julie Piekarski, Kim Fields, Molly Ringwald, Julie Anne Haddock and Mindy Cohn. By the second season, the show focused on Mrs. Garrett and just four Eastland girls - spoiled Blair, gossipy Tootie, wise-cracking Natalie, and newcomer to the group, rebellious Jo (Nancy McKeon). Under Mrs. Garrett's guidance, these four go from wide-eyed school girls to mature young women ... all while learning THE FACTS OF LIFE! Guest stars include the cast of "Diff'rent Strokes," Helen Hunt and Richard Dean Anderson of TV's "MacGyver."

My Thoughts:
This finishes off the boxset. Some really good episodes on this disc. Especially a very strong episode dealing with a popular girl committing suicide. But at the same time it also has an unfortunately slow and boring episode as a season 2 finale. Which was less of a finale of Facts of Life and more of an attempt to a pilot episode for a new series.

The Secrets of Isis: The Complete Series (Disc 1)
She was Saturday morning's first live-action super heroine, saving lives and stopping crime in a mini-skirt and go-go boots on 'THE SECRETS OF ISIS!' My Thoughts:
Unfortunately my little angel is sick with the stomach flu today. But fortunately for her... that means she gets spoiled today.  I wanted put in something she would enjoy while in here with me (she still likes to be with Daddy when she is sick). So we decided to pop in the first disc of this set. It was fun for both of us... she got to watch Isis (and make fun of some of the old effects) and I got to be nostalgic.

My Hero: Season 1
Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it's Thermoman – earth's busiest superhero, who lives in England as healthstore owner, George Sunday. Trouble is George is from the planet Ultron and not used to the ways of the world. But his love affair with Janet soon opens his eyes to earthly customs.

My Thoughts:
Since I picked up season 2 this month I decided to watch season 1 again. After all it was only 6 episodes. I started to watch this series with my daughter the other day... but unfortunately she didn't enjoy it. I on the other hand enjoyed it quite a bit. It took me a bit to get used to the UK humor (this is a series from the UK)... but within no time I was laughing at the show. I will admit there was some terms used that I was not familiar with (UK Slang and such)... but I usually pretty much got the drift from the context it was used in. Over-all I really enjoyed it. I just wish they would bring out seasons 3-6 so I could see them all.

My Hero: Season 2
Thermoman (aka George Sunday), a down-to-earth superhero in love, is back for another series of out-of-this world comedy adventures!

My Thoughts:
I finally get to see the second season of this series. This season has all really good episodes... but also contains my to favorite episodes so far. "Christmas" and "Parents". Now if they would only release season 3 on... then I would be happy.

24: Season 6
After twenty months in a Chinese prison, Jack Bauer is suddenly returned to the United States. But instead of being free, Jack's release is part of a secret deal: his life in return for the location of Hamri Al-Assad, the leader of a terrorist organization that has unleashed a wave of terror across the country. A broken man, physically and mentally, Jack agrees to the exchange. Now he must convince the president and CTU that the man they are trying to kill may be the only man who can end the rapidly escalating violence.

My Thoughts:
Even after 6 seasons this show remains one of my favorites. I love to just turn my brain off and watch this show full of non-stop action! Just the way this show is formulated there is no way of just watching a couple of episodes... or a disc or two. When you start to watch this show you are in it for the entire season. Which is exactly what I did over the last couple days. I wouldn't say this is a favorite season of mine... but I definitely enjoyed it.

Reba: Season 5 (Disc 1 Side A)
Reba is back, and the Hart household is crazier than ever! Country music superstar Reba McEntire returns as the feisty-yet-frazzled head of the uproariously unpredictable Hart family, and this time, everyone has issues. While Cheyenne and Van struggle to save their rocky marriage, Brock is in danger of losing his home and Barbra Jean is simply driving the rest of the family insane! And still, with a little tough love and a whole lot of determination, Reba manages to keep her extended brood together, proving that she really is a survivor in the hilariously heartfelt Season Five of Reba.

My Thoughts:
I just finished the first seven episodes from the latest release. Watching these reminded me how much I enjoyed this series. There was a lot of good episodes in this bunch... but I especially enjoyed the Halloween episode. It will definitely be one that makes it into my annual Halloween Marathon. Only one (very short) season is left to be released on DVD. Hopefully we will see it come out real soon!

Friday the 13th: The Series (Eps. 13-14)
Make a Date With Death....

My Thoughts:
These two episodes completes the 3rd disc (of 6) in this set. First I watched an episode called The Baron's Bride which I loved every minute of... after all this episode was about vampires. A guy wears a cape (which looks like Dracula's cape) and he is transformed into a vampire... and the medallion on his cape can make him travel through time. Micki and Ryan grab onto him just as he tries to escape... to find themselves struggling with him in the 1800s. The only thing I did not like about this episode is when they traveled back in time they for some reason decided to make the show Black and White. I think it would have flowed better (for me at least) if it remained in color like the rest of the episode. The second episode called Bedazzled was a good episode... but not as good. In the beginning of the episode Jack and Ryan gets back a cursed object (a lantern) and drop it off at the antique shop. Then they leave for a night out... leaving Micki there alone with a kid she is babysitting. Only thing is the owners of the lantern followed Jack and Ryan... and they want the lantern back.

The Ray Bradbury Theater: Complete Series (Eps. 10-13

He has also written for Alfred Hitchcock Presents and for Rod Serling's The Twilight Zone.

And now, showcased in this 5-DVD set are some of Ray Bradbury's finest works, featuring a plethora of stars like: 'Drew Barrymore', 'Jeff Goldblum', 'Peter O'Toole', 'Sally Kellerman', 'Eugene Levy', 'Shelley Duval', 'Elliot Gould', 'Ray Sharkey', and, of course, 'William Shatner' (Captain Kirk - Star Trek).

My Thoughts:
I just finished watching the last four episodes on the first disc. Watching this first disc I realize these episodes can be hit or miss for me. But I can't complain too much since I did get the entire series (6 seasons!) for only about $20. In the case of the 4 episodes I watched today... no real complaints. The first episode I enjoyed very much. Definitely will be on my top ten episode list. and the other 3 were really just average episodes. But as I said... won't complain since I got all 6 short seasons (65 episodes total) so cheap.

Reba: Season 5 (Disc 1 Side B - Disc 2 Side B)
Reba is back, and the Hart household is crazier than ever! My Thoughts:
Once I got started on this set there was just no stopping till I finished it. It is just an hilarious sitcom. I enjoyed every second of it. I especially enjoyed the great Halloween episode. And there was many others that stood out as well. I did notice that even though she is credited in ever single episode. the character of Kyra (Reba's younger daughter) was seldomly seen at all this season. I mean there might have been one or 2 very quick scenes with her... but that was about it for the entire season. Makes me wonder if she comes back for the 6th short season. Hopefully that one will be released before too long.

I think this season was done during the time the actress that plays Kyra finally went into treatment for an eating disorder.  I remember in one episode she looked so thin..almost like a skeleton.  I remember hearing that she was missing from several episodes because of the treatment and her recovery, though I'm not sure how many episodes she missed.

Thanks for the info... she was out pretty much the entire season 5... not sure about season 6.  But I do know season was a short season... only 13 episodes

Welcome.   I just remember hearing a few stories about it at the time and I think I even saw Reba talk about briefly once too...saying how they were all supporting her and how she needed to focus on her health or something like that.

I hadn't realized that the last season was that short.  I knew the show ended after that merger or whatever with WB and that other station.  I know I was trying to find the new episodes on at times and I couldn't.  I always liked it.

Me too... matter of fact I am about to go back to season one and watch some of those again.
