I can't wait to read his review of The Post-Modern Prometheus episode during the season 5. I'm so sure it's one of his favorite ;)

The X-Files: Season 1

7. Ghost in the Machine
Original Air Date: October 29, 1993
Mulder and Scully must stop a sophisticated computer system, that has taken control of a building and kills anyone who tries to stop it.

Guest Stars:
Jerry Hardin as Deep Throat
Rob LaBelle as Brad Wilczek
Wayne Duvall as Jerry Lamana
Blu Mankuma as Claude Peterson
Tom Butler as Drake

My Thoughts:
Another good one! I liked all the things they made happen just from control from a computer. It is another interesting story.  I tell you... a real plus to not watching these episodes in so long... I really don't remember that much about most of them... making even more fun to watch again.

The X-Files: Season 1

8. Ice
Original Air Date: November 5, 1993
Mulder, Scully and team of doctors and scientists go to Alaska and investigate a parasitic wormlike creature which alters behaviour and eventually leads to death.

Guest Stars:
Xander Berkeley as Dr. Hodge
Felicity Huffman as Dr. DaSilva
Steve Hytner as Dr. Danny Murphy
Jeff Kober as Bear
Ken Kirzinger as Richter
Sonny Surowiec as Campbell

My Thoughts:
Look Emma!.... I made it tonight!  :P

Setting up this episode to review... I never realized till today that Felicity Huffman (Sports Night/Desperate Housewives) was in this episode. Somehow I didn't recognize her in the episode itself. It really is an excellent episode. Interesting story... like the whole no place to go escape to thing. I had to laugh when they decided they had to check their bodies for signs of infection... in front of each other. And Mulder came out with... "Before anyone passes any judgments... let me remind you... we are in the arctic."  But as I said... this is an excellent episode... probably one of the best of the first season!

Season 1 Disc 2 Over-all
I really enjoyed all the episodes on this disc. And I do now feel myself getting hooked on this show once again. So I see myself working on this marathon in the immediate future at least. As for extras on this disc...

Extras:
- International Clips

The X-Files: Season 1

8. Ice

...

But as I said... this is an excellent episode... probably one of the best of the first season!

My Rating:

This is not only my favorite season 1 episode, it's one of my favorites overall!

We're doing an X-Files marathon ourselves.  My oldest son (12) has never seen the show.  He's loving it!  But I'm sure you'll soon pass us.  It took us a couple months just for season 1.  Probably because I don't think as highly of it.  Having been through it I don't know how many times now, I find season 1 boring for the most part.

Oh, and I'm another who loves the monster of the week and can't stand the arc stuff.

If I have too many more days like today who knows... I haven't gotten to watch any yet today... real life getting in the way.

But good to know another that prefers the monster of the week episodes!

The funny thing is that I like The X-Files because of the mythologie, since it made the serie different. But I can't stand the second season of Millenum because of the ridiculous religious mythologie added to it..

A story ark works with some show, but in most case it looks just forced...

Guest Stars:

My Thoughts:
Not so sure what I think about this one really. On one hand it had some cool effects and such. On the other... the story line really didn't interest me too much. I guess basically just a fair to average episode in my opinion.
