The Movie Questionairre

Feel free to list your own answers to these questions. Mine follow the questions...
1. What was the first movie you paid your own way into seeing? You may not remember this one...but I do. It was in 1972 and the movie was Big Jake which starred John Wayne, Maureen O'Hara and Richard Boone. And I saw it at a theater that no longer exists.
2. What movie have you seen the most times counting only viewings in theaters? For me, the first Superman movie from 1978 starring Christopher Reeve. Believe it or not, I saw it 11 times in theaters. If it had hung around one more week, I would've seen it a 12th time, too.
3. What was the last movie you saw more than once in a theatre? Fantastic 4...back in 2005, I think.
4. What was the last movie you saw in a theater? Appaloosa.
5. What was the first movie you bought on DVD? Contact with Jodie Foster.
6. What was the most number of movies you saw in a theater in one calendar year? Back when I used to keep track of such things, I did see an even 40 one year.
7. What, in your opinion, is the worst movie you ever saw at a theater? I would say Waterworld...bored me to tears.

1. What was the first movie you paid your own way into seeing?
This really is a hard one to remember, there was a very blurred line between my parents paying for my tickets and me paying, so blurred that I don't even remember when that occured.
2. What movie have you seen the most times counting only viewings in theaters?
I saw WALL-E 4 times at the cinema, I even saw it 3 times within it's first week.
3. What was the last movie you saw more than once in a theatre?
I have recently seen Alice in Wonderland 2 times, before that it was Avatar 3 times.
4. What was the last movie you saw in a theater?
Alice in Wonderland
5. What was the first movie you bought on DVD?
The first DVD I got was Shiloh, it was actually given to me. Cute film about a dog, haven't watched it for years though, don't even know where it is now.
6. What was the most number of movies you saw in a theater in one calendar year?
I think about 20-30 a year on average. I usually go at least once or twice a month. For 2010 so far I have seen 7 films at the cinema.
7. What, in your opinion, is the worst movie you ever saw at a theater?
Perhaps the first Twilight Movie, 2012 or The Happening

1. What was the first movie you paid your own way into seeing?
Couldn't be sure, but memory
suggests
"Octopussy".
2. What movie have you seen the most times counting only viewings in theaters?
That should be P
ulp Fiction
, seen it three times at the cinema.
3. What was the last movie you saw more than once in a theatre?
The Dark Knight
, both at the IMAX.
4. What was the last movie you saw in a theater?
The Book of Eli
5. What was the first movie you bought on DVD?
Joe Dante's
Small Soldiers
, bought before I had a player.
6. What was the most number of movies you saw in a theater in one calendar year?
There was several years where I went to the fantasy Filmfest in Hamburg and later in Berlin (the one Tom yearly goes to now). Since I would see 35 in a week there I'd conservatively say 50 for one of those years.
7. What, in your opinion, is the worst movie you ever saw at a theater?
Easiest question:
The Preacher's Wife
with Denzel and Whitney. Only time I ever walked out of the cinema because of how bad the film was (there os a contender for this title, but my friend as well as me failed to communicate to each other that we'd like to leave
; forgot what that was, but it was fairly recent.)

I never watch a movie more than once in theater.
3. What was the last movie you saw more than once in a theatre?

4. What was the last movie you saw in a theater?
Aurore
5. What was the first movie you bought on DVD?
No idea, maybe
Blood Feast
...
6. What was the most number of movies you saw in a theater in one calendar year?
When I was in my army training I was going to movie each week, so I've watched more than 15 during this period and most of them were bad... Not a lot to do on an army base, except drinking, playing pool, watching movie and of course over cleaning...
7. What, in your opinion, is the worst movie you ever saw at a theater?
Karate Kid 3
... It's the only time I've exit a theater before the end.

6. What was the most number of movies you saw in a theater in one calendar year?

7. What, in your opinion, is the worst movie you ever saw at a theater?

I only remember ever seeing 3 movies in the theater: Terminator 2, Star Wars EpIV:SE and Star Wars EpI.. If I ever went at other times, I don't remember.
I've always hated the so-called "theater experience" - all I can remember from theater is the volume being too loud on crappy speakers, the image being washed out and the film scratched from too many bad handled showings and kids/teens talking/yelling and throwing popcorn...
plus I suffer from agoraphobia - so the theater is far from my ideal place to be.

1. What was the first movie you paid your own way into seeing?
Tommy (1975)
2. What movie have you seen the most times counting only viewings in theaters?
Every movie I've ever seen is tied, because I've never paid to see a movie a second time in the theater.
3. What was the last movie you saw more than once in a theatre?
None, see question 2 above.
4. What was the last movie you saw in a theater?
Up (2009)
5. What was the first movie you bought on DVD?
Shichin no samurai
6. What was the most number of movies you saw in a theater in one calendar year?
About 15 I'd say. With the advent of VHS in the mid-80's, unless it was an epic film, I waited for it to be released on video.
7. What, in your opinion, is the worst movie you ever saw at a theater?
Don't Go in the House
(1980), I saw this at a drive-in.

1. What was the first movie you paid your own way into seeing?
I don't remember. I remember that the 1990s "Werner - Beinhart" movie was still paid by my father. But that was only the third movie or so I ever saw in the cinema. But soon after it started that I did go more often and also paying for myself.
2. What movie have you seen the most times counting only viewings in theaters?
I have seen "Star Trek: First Contact" and "South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut" twice. Both because for each another friend wanted to see it and I didn't object watching them twice as I enjoyed both of these movies.
3. What was the last movie you saw more than once in a theatre?
South Park
4. What was the last movie you saw in a theater?
Yesterday I saw "
The Men Who Stare at Goats
". It was a really fun movie.
5. What was the first movie you bought on DVD?
"Cruel Intentions" was included with my first DVD Player. I since then replaced that copy with a better version (i.e. without forced German subtitles when watching the English soundtrack. A restriction many early "Kinowelt" DVDs had.)
6. What was the most number of movies you saw in a theater in one calendar year?
I don't know. I would say the last few year I saw about 20-30 movies a year in the theater. About half of these at the FantasyFilmFest.
There were years I hardly went to the theaters at all.
7. What, in your opinion, is the worst movie you ever saw at a theater?
I'm not sure. In recent memory
Dachimawa Lee

I've enjoyed reading everyone's answers to these questions. In fact, it makes me wish I'd thought of more questions. Here's another...
Whaqt different video machines have you owned? I've owned several:
Beta VCRs (various models)
VHS VCRs (various models--I still have one, a Sony)
RCA Selectavision (video discs that played with a stylus, like an old-fashioned phonograph)
Laserdiscs--2 models. My first was a Yamaha and that lasted a long time. I finally had to replace it a few years ago and got one off eBay for $50...without looking, I think that one may be a Pioneer.
DVD players--I've had 3 models. My first was a Sony and my third a Phillips. My second, the one I'm still using, is an Emerson.

What different video machines have you owned?
Not a lot...
Got my first VHS reader in 85, forgot the brand but it was an ugly pricy beast (800$) who worked for almost 20 years.
Got many others to copy rented tape, most of them stop working after a couple of years.
My first dvd reader always work, but I gave it to my sister since he doesn't read dvd-r
Bought 2 or 3 Phillips after that and they usually do the job for 2 years untill they die
Now I use only my computer.
And no I don't own a Blue Ray reader yet... I'll continue to wait for the release of
Through the Looking Glass
and
The Opening of Misty Beethoven
