This famous sidekick of the B westerns of the 30's & 40's was known for his unique style of speaking prairie gibberish. Who is he?

I don't think this is right but I'm going to guess Gabby Hayes. I met him once and for some reason his name popped into my head. If I'm right... :yahoo:

and the same category for the next amount.

In the film The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance, Edmond O'Brien plays Dutton Peabody, the soused editor of the town newspaper. What is the name of the paper he runs?

Well, the last category wouldn't have been run but everytime I came in it was too late...this game isn't fun when you live on a different continent than the MC!  :redcard:

The answer to this is The Shinbone Star.

Let's go with SageBrush Cinema for 800 next...

In The Big Country, Gregory Peck plays a New Englander who arrives in the Old West, where he becomes embroiled in a feud between two families over a valuable patch of land. What is the name of the patch of land being fought over?

Yeah, I don't know what I was thinking when I said that  :stars:

Oh, and if you're waiting for me to answer this current question, well I don't know it.  I saw this movie once...years ago.  Maybe Jon knows it?

For me it's even worse. When the US have their evening hours, I'm already fast asleep. I didn't even see one of the Looney Toones questions before they were answered....

(not that I'd've known the answers ;))

Nope. There is something I'm wondering it could be, but risk losing 800 points now the Dragon really is on Fire? Not on your Nelly!  :tease:

It seems almost everyone has posted since I asked the last question. It doesn't look like anyone's going to get it. The answer was the Big Muddy.

Rogmeister, please pick the next category and point value.
