On the other hand, Julie Taymor is doing the Spiderman musical, so maybe I shouldn't be so prejudiced.

If Julie Taymore is doing it then I'm definatly interested. She did Across The Universe didn't she?

She did. She also did Frida (about the painter Frida Kahlo) and Titus (Shakespeare). Both are more interesting than Across the Universe, although I liked that one as well. IIRC the Spiderman musical idea came from her work on AtU with that U2-guy (forgot his name). It's a Broadway thing, though. No idea if there will be a movie version. Taymor's current movie is The Tempest (Shakespeare again), which hopefully will come out this year.

If it's Broadway it will probably take a few years to get to Australia. When it does though I would be interested in seeing it, I like seeing stage musicals.

I am definitely for the Spidey reboot. There are so many things that bothered me, like the black suit dance scene!!! OMG! I had to watch it through my fingers, early warning of the Disney buy-out, I tell ya.....

And of coarse there were villain crowding, settings wrong (college in movie 1?!?!), missed oppertunities (girlfriends and such), costumes (could've been done better).

Idk, I guess I'm just getting to be a critic.

Oh that wasn't nice....now I'm gonna have that image stuck in my brain again..I hated that part of the movie.  At least it was a small clip and not on a big screen.

As much as I hated that scene I think it was purely there for the laughs, and it did make me laugh.

I must say, I'm a bit disappointed that Spidey will most likely get a reboot. I very much enjoyed the first three movies and I just can't picture other actors playing Peter Parker and Mary-Jane Watson. Also losing Raimi on the project might give the upcoming movies a different feel than the previous three ... I'll give the 4th a chance of course, but I'd still be disappointed if it's a reboot.  :-\

Id like a sequel but im fairly sure it will be a reboot, if it ever comes out. Sadly I agree that I can't see anyone else playing Spidy except Toby :/ Sadly I also think he was a strange choice and that he was too old for the part...

well, he may have been offically old for the part, but he still has that boyish look to him. I'm willing to give it chance, cuz like I said, 1 was awesome, 2 and 3 were far far downhill! the reboot is needed!

I thought Spider-Man 2 was superb and by far the best one, but the first was great too. Number 3? There was a third film? Why don't I remember it? ;)

Actually, Brittany, don't you think they could at least improve the origin, if they do have to reboot? In the comics it was strictly a one-off, truly freak accident. In the film, Peter was bitten by one of several genetically engineered spiders, any of which could easily escape. Surely that means the process is easy to repeat and you could easily find 12 more spider-men and women roaming the city, simply because the scientists contrived to make a super spider. The point of the comic was that Peter was playing around at home with a random, non-spider related experiment that the insect wandered into.

I've never been comfortable with the films version...
