I agree, I really enjoyed the second movie, it was a good story although I always felt Doc Ock was a bit strange in the movie.

I have to admit that they could have made a better job of the orgin story but as with all the superhero films there never perfect to the origin... atleast it was better then the X-men movie!

Actually, Brittany, don't you think they could at least improve the origin, if they do have to reboot? In the comics it was strictly a one-off, truly freak accident. In the film, Peter was bitten by one of several genetically engineered spiders, any of which could easily escape. Surely that means the process is easy to repeat and you could easily find 12 more spider-men and women roaming the city, simply because the scientists contrived to make a super spider. The point of the comic was that Peter was playing around at home with a random, non-spider related experiment that the insect wandered into.

Well, I think they could have made it so he made his webbing, but a teen making an experiment that had that result isn't all that believable, and if they other 12 or something gets you nervous, think of it this way, after first one gets out - project terminated, end of the line, kill the remaining spiders, who knows what effect it had on that random kid!

The only things I'd change in the movie origin is the type of webbing and for crying out loud, keep him in high school for a few movies!!!

Right now, I'm just glad that Michael Bay isn't directing.

But a music video director isn't much better and Michael Bay doesn't really direct that much anymore, he's mostly a producer now. Anyway he had at least directed one good thing in his career wich is one more than Marc Webb...

I quite liked The Rock (pre flashy-editing) and Transformers is good fun to me (although quite an empty experience). Of course, it's all a matter of point of view...

I have enjoyed some of his movies.  Heck I don't even think Transformers 2 is as bad as a lot of people.  However, I don't think he is the right director for Spider-Man.  Though who knows..maybe he would have proven me wrong if he had the chance.

And I have no clue who the director who got hired is.

Armageddon's pathos is dripping out of the screen but I really like it; it's like a saturday morning Looney Toons cartoon made into life-action...

Armageddon rocks like a melon farmer, so does The Rock.

I'd list it them as a guilty pleasures, but I don't giva damn who knows I like them.

I always loved Armageddon. But hey... people say there is nothing I don't like (even if I prove otherwise often here... ehm...The Wicker Man?)  :tease:

I haven't seen The Rock in years! but I do remember I enjoyed it when I did see it. :)

Hmmm, maybe someone should start a "Guilty Pleasures" thread?  I might name Medicine Man with Sean Connery and Lorraine Bracco.

Sean: You said you wanted me to pick his brains...
Lorraine: Not off the sidewalk!

(Which is made even funnier because of her accent...brooklyn?)  :P

1st time I saw Armageddon I teared up at the end.  :bag: In all fairness though I had the testosterone of a 10 year old girl at the time

I do enjoy the movie though. Might have to watch it again soon.  :tv:
