What kind of intro musics do you like?
« on: January 04, 2010, 11:54:31 PM »
As in the topic title: What types of intro music do you like? More song? Electronical? Slow? Rock?

I like real songs very much, like "The Unknown Stuntman" (The Fall Guy) or the "Ballad of Serenity" (Firefly) or the "Good ol' Boys" (The Dukes of Hazzard)

I like all different kind of intro music if it fits the series. Though I tend to like real songs more. I have a tendency to sing along (badly) each time the intro comes on. I always liked the "Due South" intro song, too.

It's sure a cheap one
Falling on that I'm sure that it won't take me too long to change the channel.

One of my favorite is the one used in the first season of Buck Rogers in the 25th Century

Buck Rogers! Brilliant...

Never really thought about my own preference. Just so long as it suits, I suppose. This by some considerable margin is the best TV theme ever though (even when I didn't like the original show! ;)) Can't find a decent theme only clip... skip to 3:15...

I like the ones more that have actual theme  songs..don't really like how with most new shows the title is just shown that's it.

For me, the music and the opening credit sequence belong together. Some favorites:

Six Feet Under opening credits; theme by Thomas Newman (YouTube)
Carnivale opening credits; theme by Wendy Melvoin & Lisa Coleman (YouTube)
John From Cincinnati opening credits; song "Johnny Appleseed" by Joe Strummer & The Mescaleros (YouTube)

True Blood opening credits; song "Bad Things" by Jace Everett

Ugh, dad you know I hate that Dracula song!!! All the same I couldn't miss the oppertunity to share my favorite theme. I even memorized all the words! For those following me in my TV show thread, that's right! It's the Spectacular Spider-Man!!!

I always liked the song to Greatest American Hero.  Last year when I watched the first season for the first time in years, I still remembered all the words.

You're not the only one! I really like that show, but that's not why I remember the song! :P

I really memorize all words after listening to the song two maybe three times. Special, I know! Just think how my dad feels! :P

I'm surprised nobody mentioned this one. I like it because it's short, and fits the show well.

And I might bring on the hatred for this one, but I like the song, and want it or not, it fits the show, despite it breaking tradition:

I can't leave this thread without mentioning some of my favorite Anime openings (yeah, I like a lot of them!):

I love the Big Bang Theory theme, sang by my favourite band "Barenaked Ladies" there is a slightly longer version of the song I think its a minute and half.

I also love the Peep Show them song... also because its sang by my second favourite band Harvey Danger

(I found both shows by finding out that those bands sing the themes)

I also love the Scrubs theme song

I quite often get these themes stuck in my head.

30 Rock

The Office

and ever since I was about 7 and this show aired.... certain points of my life, (if I have to run anywhere, which does not happen often now, or if im annoyed at someone) have been plagued by this theme in my head.

..Batman the Animated Series
