A nice continuation to the last episode. I enjoyed seeing Julian Sands guest starring in the last couple episodes. I always liked him in the Warlock movies.

I didn't know him before, but this guy seems to be following me around this week. First I saw him watching a season nine episode of Smallville yesterday where he played a younger Jor-El (clone). Then I saw him in the last three episodes of Ghost Whisperer's season 2. And now I see you mention him. Of course I had seen him also in Blood Ties in the past but I didn't take particular notice of him then.

Blood Ties: Season 1

10. Necrodrome
When the body of late pro bocer Diesel Swanson goes missing from the funeral home, Vicki is called in by the funeral director, Boris Ulyanov, to investigate. What he shows her is surviellance footage of the preporation room as Diesel Swanson's body gets up and walks out with the help of a necromancer.

Guest Stars:
Keith Dallas
Nimet Kanji
Ken Kirzinger
Aurelio Di Nunzio
G. Michael Gray

My Thoughts:
Not a bad episode. I did enjoy it... but not quite as much as the earlier episodes. The episode just didn't grab and keep my attention as much.

Blood Ties: Season 1

11. Post Partum
Vicki's visit by Mitch Lafoy, a man whose wife Marlisse, checked into a fertility clinic a month ago. Mitch explains that Marlisse has been acting a little weird lately and every time he tries to call or visit, she refuses to talk to him due to his "negative aura". He believes the clinic is a cult being lead by the fertility specialist, Dr. Hobman, and needs Vicki to investigate.

Guest Stars:
Francoise Yip
Nimet Kanji
David Orth
Sarah Deakins
Richard Keats

My Thoughts:
This one is definitely better. A good idea for a story... and well followed through. I like how it has a mixture of a demon and evil kids. The one kid it focused on did a fine job of playing the part as needed.

Blood Ties: Season 1

12. Norman
Camille Stokes, a woman who claims to be psychic, comes to Vicki's office warning of great danger. She had a vision of someone gathering three very powerful objects: a chalice, a dagger and a grimoire. They're trying to start a new pentagram with a fresh set of corpses and, to make matters worse, they're hunting Vicki.

Guest Stars:
Francoise Yip
Nimet Kanji
Michael Eklund
Matthew Walker
Linda Sorensen

My Thoughts:
This is a good episode... I did enjoy it. Though I think I would have enjoyed it a bit more if I could remember the episode where they first went up against Norman. It must have been when I first started this thread long ago. And I just don't remember that episode at all. That or the episodes in this set aren't in order.

Blood Ties: Season 1

13. D.O.A.
Vicki arrives at her office to find her old cop friend Paul Deeds waiting for her. he's working undercover, infiltrating a bike gang, and needs Vicki's help in solving a homicide. When Vicki asks who died, Paul replies "I did" as he walks straight through the wall into her office. Paul doesn't remember anything about his death and wants to find his body as well as know why he's a ghost.

Guest Stars:
Nimet Kanji
Steve Bacic
Eileen Pedde
Woody Jeffreys
Kira Clavell

My Thoughts:
This is the last episode in the season 1 DVD set. I enjoyed it very much. It has a good storyline with the ghost of a dead friend asking Vicki to help solve his murder... with an added  twist of a demon taking over his body and walking around so Vicki has little help on the case as most people believes he is still alive. The episode definitely kept my interest from beginning to the end.

Blood Ties: Season 2

14. Wild Blood
After a vicious robbery/homicide in which the victim was torn to shreds and decapitated by what looks like a wild animal, Mike makes an arrestm but cannot convict due to lack of evidence, He immediately calls Vicki as the case slowly begins to enter into her territory.

Guest Stars:
Ellen Dubin
Francoise Yip
Eileen Pedde
Marcell Maillard
Jano Frandsen

My Thoughts:
This one is my least favorite episode so far. I started up a bit slow and the storyline just wasn't that interesting. Then in the middle of the episode I started to get into it some... but unfortunately towards the end of the episode I lost interest once again. It is a shame... it was a good idea for a story... but they just couldn't follow through on it.

You know Tom... After such a poor episode I was going to put this marathon on the shelf for a little while. Then you just had to make such a comment on the next episode. Making me want to continue. And I did. I watched the next episode last night... and will be posting a review of it here shortly.

Blood Ties: Season 2

15. 5:55
Vicki takes a case to recover a piece of furniture. Once found she discovers an ancient box inside which is said that no living creature can handle without giving into the temptation to open it.

Guest Stars:
Francoise Yip
Rob Daly
Mike Antonakos
Dean Paul Gibson
Derek Peakman

My Thoughts:
After I was expecting that this is where the series went downhill and the reason the series didn't last very long. But after watching this episode I have to rethink that... as I loved this one! Sure they whole groundhog day thing has been done many times over... several series has done a version of it. But I really liked how this one was done. For a TV episode the day restarted more times then I was expecting it to... which definitely added to the enjoyment. I must say that at least to this point... this is my favorite episode of the series.

Blood Ties: Season 2

16. Bugged
Vicki and Coreen investigate a murder outside the Goth club "The Underground". The body was seemingly chewed up and eaten by insects, and the girls begin to realize that they also might be dealing with a different kind of demon that may be feasting off regulars at the club.

Guest Stars:
Nimet Kanji
Patrick Currie
James Pizzinato
Jody Thompson
Krista McPhail

My Thoughts:
Right good episode. While the storyline with the bugs was ok... what brought this episode up in rating was the side storyline of Henry and Mike working together on the arrival of a new vampire in town. One that is looking to take over Henry's territory... and one that wouldn't think twice about killing. This feels like a storyline that will continue... perhaps through-out the rest of the series?

Blood Ties: Season 2

17. The Devil You Know
Mike is investigating a new rash of murders. Vicki and Mike are convinced Christina is responsible for the murders, but Henry knows it isn't her work. Whatever the case may be, they know with vampire territoriality the way it is, having Christina around makes Henry unpredictable and that's bad news. And they find out how bad, when Henry comes home to find Christina on his bed waiting for him.

Guest Stars:
Keith "Blackman" Dallas
Nimet Kanji
Laura Mennell
Andrew Francis
Julie Johnson

My Thoughts:
Good conclusion to the whole vampire territory storyline. Though I do think it could have dragged on for another episode or two... I did like how they handled it. Makes me wonder though... if this is the last we will see of Christina. With only 5 episodes left in the series we probably won't though.

Blood Ties: Season 2

18. Drawn and Quartered
Henry brings Maya, an old friend of his, in to see Vicki. Maya's boyfriend, Jude, has disappeared right before opening of his new show, "Dark Destinies". Vicki agrees to help and as she gets involved in the local art scene, what she finds in Maya is a flighty, bossy, unfaithful girlfriend who looks like the most likely suspect in Jude's disappearance.

Guest Stars:
Keith 'Blackman' Dallas
Nimet Kanji
Joseph May
Ali Liebert
David McNally

My Thoughts:
Another one I enjoyed quite a bit. Has a good storyline of a haunted painting. Sure it has been done before... but they did a good job with it here. I also like that Coreen has been playing a bigger role in the stories here lately.

My Rating:

Nice to see that we have the same thoughts on this episode. This episode was surprisingly well done, considering that the basic premise isn't really original.

Was it this series or was it True Blood, where the reason that the vampires do not act during the day was, that they become dead corpses (instead of undead) during the day? I liked that.

Not sure it is either. I know in this one that... forget the character's name... but the guy Julian Sands played... had a female vampire bound and when the sunlight hit her she went up in flames and disintegrated. And it has been a while... but I don't remember that happening in True Blood. Though I could be wrong as I haven't watched that show in a while.

Sounds like an interesting idea though. I think the Vampire myth is played with more in the movies then any other. But I think that is cool... it keeps things interesting and makes it so vampire movies don't get old as fast.
