Quote
Take a boat and go to the South Pole to get your snow

Maybe I'll grab some polar bears while I'm there.

So, you'll go to THE island?  :tease:

It's official. Australian weather has lost it's mind. Last week we were in a heat wave and had some of our record highest temperatures for this time. Right now however we are having some of our record lowest temperatures for this time of the year. It's raining, there are storms and it's even snowing in some parts of the state... snowing! I just can't understand it.

Well, our snow was here then it rained and now its gone :/ Its quite sad really I always think everything looks nicer with the snow, however this should be good news. Now the bin men can finally come and empty our bins.... 7 weeks! and no rubbish collection (in my street and a few surrounding ones, I live in a small narrow street that is hard to get up at the best times..... snow made it worse.)

At least it's actually winter for you and it's snowing. It's the middle of summer here and there's bloody snow! Something is wrong with this picture.

I'm starting to wonder if we will have opposite effects from now on and have a heatwave during the middle of our upcoming winter. :hmmmm:

We are getting more snow here right now then we have had in YEARS! As of right now there is a good inch and a half on the ground... and it is still coming strong! Obviously... we don't usually see much snow around here.  :P

We got some snow again this week, shortly after last week's snow was mostly gone.
This afternoon it snowed again a few centimetres in an half an hour.

Yesterday was the anniversary of the Blizzard of 77. If you've never heard of it - look it up - it was a perfect storm that was deadly and paralyzed Western New York for days. Usually Buffalo rebounds within a day but this storm took days and weeks to clean up. Yesterday we got a hint of what it was like 13 years ago -whiteouts, 20 car pileups and lots of snow and wind.

Today the sun is shining bright, there's about a foot of snow in the yard, but the streets are clean. The only problem is it is very cold, 0° Fahrenheit (-17.° Celsius) this afternoon. I don't have to do anything until tomorrow afternoon so today is a day to turn on my electric lap blanket and read a book or watch a movie.

Uh oh...I hope that snow doesn't get over here!  :-\  Pete and I are basically separated by the state of Pennsylvania (I'm in W.Va., he's in Maryland) so I could see a big winter storm able to affect us both.  I don't have to go anywhere tomorrow but Mondays are always dialysis days with me.  I could always walk there...the place is only about a quarter mile away...  :surrender:

We ended up with about a foot of snow by the time it ended last night. That is the most I have seen since I moved to Maryland when I was about 10yrs old. (used to live in New Jersey).

Looks like we are expecting some snow today. Nothing has even started yet... and I got a call from the Board of education... a recorded message that school is letting out at noon today.  :P

Here in Karlsruhe almost all snow is gone (only tiny spots left or heaps that were created by road sweepers). Today it was more than 10°C / 50°F.
