Weekend Movie Marathon
Cast of Buffy the Vampire Slayer
This weekend I wanted something where I could watch all different types of movies... so I decided to go with movies that cast members of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. So this weekend I am watching...

Scooby-Doo
Zoinks! Two years after a clash of egos forced Mystery Inc. to close its doors, Scooby-Doo and his clever crime-solving cohorts Fred, Daphne, Shaggy and Velma are individually summoned to Spooky Island to investigate a series of paranormal incidents at the ultra-hip Spring Break hot spot.

Concerned that his way cool theme park might truly be haunted, Spooky Island owner Emile Mondavarious tries to reunite those notoriously meddling detectives to solve the mystery before his supernatural secret scares away the college crowds.

Scooby and the gang will have to overcome their personal differences and forget everything they think they know about fake ghouls and phony creatures to crack the case, save themselves and possibly... the world. RUH-ROH!

Buffy Cast Member: Sarah Michelle Gellar (Buffy Summers) as Daphne

My Thoughts:
OK... I can see how some people would not like this movie... it can be pretty silly at times... but hey... this is a movie off of an old cartoon. Coming from someone that always loved the cartoons.. I thought this was just a fun movie... I thought most all the characters came out good and I really got a kick out of who was behind it all. Just that with this movie you can't expect more then what it really is... just a fun movie that should not be over-thought. A movie that should just be pure entertainment for the whole family... kids and adults alike.

American Pie
Here's the uncensored version of America's #1 comedy hit, re-edited to include the scenes you couldn't see in theaters. You'll never look at warm apple pie the same way again! 'American Pie' takes a hysterical look at the goal of four "unlucky in love" high school friends who make the ultimate pact: lose their virginity by prom night. As they try to manipulate their way into the...hearts of some of their classmates, their plans often backfire with hilarity.

Follow the raging hormones of four teenage boys and their girls as they gear up for the most important night of their lives...the prom?

Buffy Cast Member: Alyson Hannigan (Willow) as Michelle

My Thoughts:
Hmmm... well... this is a decent comedy... but not one of my favorites. I think mainly because it relies mostly on crude comedies.... and I am afraid (and sorry) to say... I think I matured away from the crude comedy style. It just don't seem as funny or enjoyable as it did for me at one time. I mean... it is still something I can watch now and then... but for the most part it just takes more then this now.

Darkness Falls
As a young boy, Kyle claimed to have seen the tooth fairy. He also claimed she tried to kill him.

Now over twelve years later, Kyle has left the town that never believed him. He has also left behind the two people who thought he was telling the truth, his childhood girlfriend Caitlin (Emma Caulfield) and her younger brother. And when evil again emerges in Darkness Falls, Kyle must return to do battle with the winged creature of doom he saw that night so many years ago. Because evil is back with a vengeance. And it's not leaving without Caitlin's brother.

Buffy Cast Member: Emma Caulfield (Anya) as Caitlin

My Thoughts:
This was a decent horror movie. The first of 2 that I have in my collection about the Tooth Fairy. I enjoy them both about the same amount as they are both enjoyable. This one adds a bit of afraid of the dark/night terrors into the mix.

Scooby-Doo
This is a movie, I did enjoy when it was it first came out on DVD. I wasn't expecting much and therefore a found it quite fun. I recently watched it for my christmas marathon but somehow this movie had lost something for me. I was expecting to give it a weak 7 going in, but I ended up giving it only a 5.

I definitely enjoyed it more then you did then. I personally would give it between a 7 and a 7.5... still not great... but definitely above average.

Idle Hands
The devil will find work for idle hands to do... but what happens when he chooses the laziest teen slacker in the world to do his dirty work?

Anton Tobias is a channel-surfing, junk-food munching, couch potato burn-out who can't control the murderous imposes of his recently possessed hand. With the help of his zombiefied buddies, Mick and Pnub, Anton's got to stop the rampaging devil appendage before it takes total control of his life and ruins any chance he has with class hottie Molly. Vivica A. Fox and Jack Noseworthy co-star in this wickedly funny horror comedy.

Buffy Cast Member: Seth Green (Oz) as Mick

My Thoughts:
Now this was a fun horror comedy. I don't know what it is about this movie... but I get a kick out of it every time I watch it. Of course the fact that the always hot Jessica Alba is in it doesn't hurt!

Soul Survivors
After a night of partying, college freshman Cassie and her friends are involved in a bloody car accident that turns into a horrifying tale of the supernatural. Overwhelmed by startling hallucinations, Cassie's grip on reality slips further as she begins a desperate race against time to learn who her real friends are, who wants her dead, and who will be the Soul Survivor.

Buffy Cast Member: Eliza Dushku (Faith) as Annabel

My Thoughts:
OK... this is a strange horror... one that can get a little difficult to follow. But it is at least interesting. Far from the best horror of it's type I saw... but one I can see myself watching again. And the fact that both the 2 main girls in this movie is looks fantastic is only icing on the cake for me! If you decide to take a chance on this one... just remember... it is weird... it is hard to understand. This is a movie you do (or at least I did) need to watch more then once.

Shriek if You Know What I Did Last Friday the 13th
In every horror movie there is a phone waiting to ring, a victim waiting to scream, a killer waiting to strike. And the only way to survive is to stay one step ahead of the killer, even if the killer is a klutz! Now, a sexy reporter with a knack for getting into a tight place has teamed up with a bumbling policeman to track a killer whose deadly handiwork is known as the Spring Break Massacre. An all-star cast stars in a comedy so funny, you'll die laughing!

Buffy Cast Member:  Julie Benz (Darla) as Barbara Primesuspekt
                               Danny Strong (Johnathan) as Boner

My Thoughts:
This is... of course a spoof on horror movies.. in the same line of the Scary Movie franchise that became so popular. I wouldn't say this is a great movie... but it is enjoyable. Some of it was funnier then other parts... but that can be said of any movie. I got this one in the $5 Walmart Bargain Bin... so it was definitely worth the price I paid.

See Jane Date
Based on a novel by Melissa Senate, this made-for-cable romantic comedy stars Charisma Carpenter as Jane Grant, a New York bachelorette with a moderately successful job at a publishing company. At the behest of her Aunt Ina (Linda Dano), Jane must find a suitable date to escort her to her cousin's wedding in four weeks. Our heroine experiences a number of romantic misadventures with a steady parade of "Mr. Wrongs" (one of whom is played by Joe Millionaire's Evan Marriott) before hitting upon a man who might be "the One" -- and then again, might not. Making Jane's task all the more difficult is the presence of her former high school nemesis Natasha Nutley (Holly Marie Combs), now a soap opera diva whose autobiography Jane has been assigned to edit. See Jane Date debuted August 16, 2003, on the ABC Family Channel.

Buffy Cast Member:  Charisma Carpenter (Cordelia) as Jane Grant

My Thoughts:
I originally blind bought this movie for my love of 2 of the actresses in this movie. Holly Marie Combs (Charmed) and Charisma Carpenter (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel). As it says above... this is a made for TV movie.... one that once I started to get into it turns out to be a movie I really enjoyed. It was fun seeing these 2 actresses in a non-supernatural role. Unfortunately this DVD has no extras what so ever.

See Jane Date
This just went to my wishlist :)
Thanks, I never even heard of this movie. I just saw that it only costs $4 which is a nice price for a chance to see Charisma as someone else than Cordelia.
