I just watched a documentary report about this on TV.  It was invented by young men from Quebec.  Apparently it's been seen on TV as it was used in an episode of CSI............................which said it was a British invention :redcard: (Now I understand Jon's feeling about U-571 and the Enigma)

Funny Jon !

But all jokes put aside have you looked at the device ?  This thing is amazing.  It's the first (and only) device that allows making a 3D scan of something that moves.  With other technologies the object as to be completely still and if it moves just a bit the scan is wasted and has to be done all over again.  The Handyscan doesn't have that limitation.  If the object moves while it's being scanned the device will cope with it and keep on digitizing.

Hollywood is very interested in this because they can use it to make very realistic 3D animations of real people.
