I was in the supermarket today and saw something that looked extrodinarily like a 'snuggy' for dogs for only 6 bucks. It was made from roughly the same material as snuggys and even had little sleeves. Needless to say I bought it. My dog...well, he wasn't too happy about it. I got a good laugh out of it though.

Your dog doesn't look amused!

My dog would hate me for this!

Normally -depending on the area- my dog goes naked as well, but sometimes for security reasons (e.g. a she-dog in heat on the other side of the street ::) ) we use this.

This is my dog (Jack Russell Terrier, 8 years now)  :D

Haha my dog is close to 16 years old now and this is the first time we have ever put clothing on him. Living in a climate like we have here in Aus there really isn't much need for animal clothing, but I just couldn't help myself with this one.

No clothes for my animals.  My cats don't even like collars.

I used to have my animals were collars w/ id tags but one of my dogs caught her mouth caught while playing. She almost strangled my other dog and could have broken her jaw. I haven't had a collar on anyone since. Instead of relying on tags, I now get all my pets micro chipped.

I only have one dog and he has always worn a collar. I did once have the collar on too loose though and I had a similar problem Kathy. He got his mouth caught in it once, and another time he got his paw stuck in it. It was scary and I worried about it happening if we weren't home. But we tighened up the collar a little and he hasn't had problems with it since.

A few members showed an interest in seeing the pictures of my DVD collection. These were taken December 31st, 2009. I've added a significant number more dvds and blurays since then and have also had to do some creative re-arranging to make more room. Given that it is still a work in progress I will hold off before taken updated pictures.

This is about as wide a shot as I could take given that my rec room is rather narrow to begin with. This is the bulk of the collection but I have more in the exercise/toy room as well as you'll see in the later pictures.

These first 3 shelving units are the movies that I have watched and are filed in alphabetic order. The 4th unit on the far right is the first shelf of unwatched movies.

You'll notice on the second shelf on the 4th unit has a movie sticking out sideways. I do that with the case of any movie that I have out on loan to friends or family so I remember which ones I need to get back.

Here is my new TV. Connected to it is my up-converting DVD player, my Bell satellite receiver, an Xbox, an Xbox360, a PS1, a PS2, a Nintendo Gamecube and my Nintendo Wii. (I've since added a 1000 watt Samsung stereo surround sound!)

This is unit #2 of unwatched movies. It is shorter than the other units which pretty much go right up to the drop ceiling.

Shelving unit #3 of unwatched dvds. You can faintly make out on the outer right edge of each shelf a small white sticker which is a running number of my unwatched movies which increases with every single shelf. I then use my random number generator to choose which movie I will watch.

That's just the lower half of the same unit.

These two units of unwatched movies, numbers 4 & 5, are just small ones I picked up for this space as there is a window above them.

#6 and the last unit of unwatched movies in this room. Total number of unwatched movies in this room.... 2957. I'm unsure of the exact amount of watched movies.

Now we are getting into the exercise room. The unit to the left of the blurays and the shelf above are all movies that are sequels that I have not watched yet. When I randomly select a movie for which there is a sequel I will come here, pull the next sequel in the series and put it in the place of the one that I just picked.

The unit on the right is my 'Video Vault' unit full of all my trade bait. There is a mixture of blurays, dvds, games and music cds here. It's hard to tell from the glare but on top of the stack of blurays is the brand new Bluray of Inglourious Basterds, still up for grabs! :)  (I've since started keeping the blurays and have tripled the amount shown on that shelf. Due to a lack of space I've started putting my blurays into binders and boxing up the cases...  :(

This pic is of the upper half of the two units I use to store TV seasons and series that I have not watched yet. It's not very well organized yet. Once a tv season has been watched it gets filed with the regular movies in alpha order back in the rec room.

Lower half of the same two units. (I've since condensed both these units into the one on the right, putting the TV series two rows deep. It's jammed packed. I now use the unit on the left for more regular dvds... it's now right full too, again two rows deep.

This is the last shelving unit I have for unwatched movies. I ran out of shelving space in the rec room and so now I put each weeks acquisitions onto here. I don't have these shelves numbered so my range of numbers for selecting a movie starts at 1 and ends at 2957. Whenever a movie is picked, watched and filed, I bring a movie into the rec room from this shelf, grabbing from the upper right pile on the top shelf until that pile is gone. I then slide all the piles over and up.  (I now have my movies sitting on here sideways, two rows deep. By doing it this way I have bought myself enough space for a few more months worth of purchases. After that I have to get even more creative.  :headscratch:

This is the pile of stuff I picked up this past week both bought and through trades. It still has to be added to my DVD Profiler database and then put onto the shelf in the picture above. (Actually an old picture but it's not abnormal for me to pick up that many movies in a given week.)

That's it folks. Now you know why my wife thinks I am certifiable. Eventually, when the kids grow up and out I will likely completely take over the toy room for my movies plus I am looking at possibly knocking down part of a wall in the rec room at the far end and then extending a wall across through what is now a very large laundry room (much larger than it needs to be for laundry!). This will buy me about another 80 square feet of wall space. I'm also going to look for an experienced carpenter who can quote me a price for sliding bookshelves that will overlap my existing units, kind of like you see in large libraries.

Big plans that I have not disclosed to my wife yet and likely won't until I have completed several other, far less meaningful projects around the house for her.  ;)

KC

P.S.  I may have to resort to filing my dvds into binders at least as a short term solution until I can do some major renovations (or move into a bigger house!) to continue to display my collection in it's entirety. Not my preference but I'm starting to run out of options.

Very nice indeed KC!
I especially love your game consoles, yet I didn't see many games. Do you keep them in a different area?

Again, for space reasons I had to box up the cases for the games and put them in binders.  They are all the black binders on the shelf to the left in the 10th picture.

Ah I see them. Wow, it seems that you have heaps. You have pretty much every console as well. Do you see a Playstation 3 in the future?
