Having a problem pasting Links
« on: October 01, 2009, 08:08:28 AM »
OK.. all the sudden I am having a problem with any link that I copy and paste into a post

Like my last review I copy the address and when I try to paste it I get...

hXXp://www.dvdcollectorsonline.com/index.php/topic,5565.msg94898.html#msg94898

If I type it into the post I get...

hXXp://

The only way I don't get the XX's is if I use the link icon above and use the little pop-up box to add my link. I can't even manually change the XX's to tt's as they just automatically change back to XX's as soon as I type them.

This is a big problem... especially now when we are starting our horror marathons. Especially for images where there is no pop up box for the address to be put in.

Anyone else here having this problem?
Pete

I just tried reinstalling Firefox... and that didn't help either. And another thing that is weird... this is the only site it does it on. The other forums I don't have this problem.

Did you make that forum change I asked for earlier in the week?, perhaps if you have it is cocking something up for Pete

If so it happened very fast. because it was fine when I did the review for Brotherhood of Blood but then it started messing up about half an hour later when I did the review for the short The Hitch.

Yes I did, but I also use Firefox all the time and didn't notice anything. I googled for such effect but only learned that some people write the http->hxxp to make a link unclickable, but I didn't find anything that automatically makes such a change.

@addicted: Have you installed any FF plugins recently?

Nope... Like I said... it was fine with the review for Brotherhood of Blood... but then less then an hour later it started messing up with the very next review of the short The Hitch. And I didn't do anything between the 2 posts... so like I said I am at a complete loss.

Have you the 'QuietUrl' add-on for Firefox Pete?

I had to check in my add-ons... but yes I do. It has been in there for a very long time though. So I am not sure what could have changed in that short period of time and why it would only effect this board. What do you suggest? Removing it?

Actually thanks to your question Rich... I think I found it!

Not sure why it started up when it did or anything... but I just fix it in the AutoObfuscation tab. (Whatever that is!) :P
