A matter of taste. I like the look of Rem better than the look of Ryuk.

My Thoughts:
This is a DVD a friend of mine gave me about 6 months ago... but just now getting around to watching it for the first time. It is a pretty good movie. I did enjoy it. The cover art says this movie is "Inspired By True Events"... but half way through this movie all I could think of is this is nothing more then a rip off of
Cujo
... just set in Africa and it is a couple lions instead of dog. But that changes about half way through as it evolves into more as this one has more of a storyline outside what is going on in the car then
Cujo
did. And I really liked how this ended. Is this movie really "Inspired By True Events"... I guess if they put it on the case it would have to be to some degree... but who knows how many liberties they took to make this movie. I would have liked to see maybe a short documentary on the true story the movie is inspired by... but unfortunately this disc has no real extras what so ever.

But maybe
Cujo
was a true story and Stephen King forgot it was one

Maybe it's just me, but I think the lions would get bored and go to sleep really fast. A lion don't do a lot of thing except sleeping and eating, they doesn't even hunt as the females are the one doing it...

There was two lions in the movie... one male and one female. For most the time they were just laying around close to the car. But whenever they made a noise or tried to leave the car they were right there to get them. The movie also made sure to note that due to a drought the natural food for the lions weren't around like they normally are.

My Thoughts:
This is one that was given to me a couple years ago, but just now got the chance to watch. Unfortunately, I wasn't very impressed. The movie just seemed weird and hard to follow. Maybe if they told a straight story instead of using flashbacks to jump all over the place I would have enjoyed it more. But it has a decent cast... the acting is fine... but I just couldn't keep up with the story. It is obviously one of those movies you have to give all your attention to... but for some reason I found myself drifting in and out of sleep for the most of the movie. I think I will have to give this one another chance one of these days just to see if I can follow it any better.

Pete, if you rate a vampire movie with two stars it must have been truly awful

Like I said... was dozing in and out through the entire movie. Just don't know if it was because I was tired (haven't slept well lately) or because of the movie.
Another thing about that movie I didn't care for that I forgot to mention... the vampires had no fangs. Which for me is a mistake for vampire movies. I mean some movies can pull it off (Near Dark)... but it is seldom I like a vampire movie when they don't have fangs. In this one they used something that looked like a fancy curved cross with the base sharpened. And it just didn't work for me.

Zack and Miri Make a Porno: Blockbuster Exclusive
(2008/United States)
The Weinstein Company Home Entertainment, Genius Products
Director:
Kevin Smith
Writing:
Kevin Smith (Writer)
Length:
101 min.
Rating:
Rated R : Strong Crude Sexual Content Including Dialogue, Graphic Nudity and Pervasive Language
Video:
Anamorphic Widescreen 1.78:1
Audio:
English: Dolby Digital: 5.1, French: Dolby Digital: 5.1
Subtitles:
English, Spanish
Stars:
Elizabeth Banks as Miri
Seth Rogen as Zack
Craig Robinson as Delaney
Gerry Bednob as Mr. Surya
Edward Janda as Customer
Nicholas Lombardi as Teen #1
Plot:
Get ready for the wild comedy that goes where no movie has dared go before! Seth Rogen (Pineapple Express) and Elizabeth Banks (Role Models) star as two cash-strapped roommates who try to get out of debt by making an adult film. Once the cameras start rolling, things quickly get complicated...and hilarious! Writer/Director Kevin Smith is at his funniest, backed by a motley cast, including Craig Robinson ("The Office"), Jason Mewes (Clerks films), Justin Long (Live Free or Die Hard), and Brandon Routh (Superman Returns). Critics promise, "If you liked The 40-Year-Old Virgin, Knocked Up, and Superbad, you'll love Zack and Miri" (Shawn Edwards, Fox-TV).
Extras:
Scene Access
Bonus Trailers
Deleted Scenes
Featurettes
Outtakes/Bloopers
My Thoughts:
This one was given to me in a big bx of DVDs a while back. Is a Blockbuster exclusive disc that seems to come with some deleted scenes you can only get on this disc. I don't know how many deleted scenes is in the normal release... but this one has up over 40 in one section alone. Plus there is several more in another section of the special features. I have to admit that I enjoyed the movie itself. More then I thought I would actually. Though I do think it may have went a little too far for my taste in one or two scenes. But not so bad where it stopped me from enjoying the movie.

The ship appears deserted, but Jess is convinced she’s been on board before. They soon realize they are not alone. Someone is intent on hunting them down, one by one.
Extras:
Scene Access
Bonus Trailers
Interviews
My Thoughts:
This is a movie that I been wanting to check out for a while now... since reading a few good reviews for it. I enjoyed it quite a bit. Though it does get a little on the weird side... even to the point of slightly confusing so it is one that you definitely want to pay attention to through-out the entire film. While the entire cast did well... I really liked Melissa George in this one. Not only is it an interesting story... but it has a good atmosphere as well. Definitely one I would suggest giving a chance if you never seen it.
