I was chatting with a friend this evening... and she said she wanted to get me a movie for my October marathon.... asking me what I would like (not too expensive)... just happened to be at the same time we were talking about this film on a horror group on Facebook. And saying how good it is. So I told my friend about it... so she ordered me a copy of...

The Bad Seed
| Year: 1956 | 129 Min.| IMDb | Trailer/Intro

Rhoda Penmark (Patty McCormack) is a well-mannered 8-year-old little lady – and an efficient, unfeeling killer. And in this spellbinding chronicle of evil, whatever Rhoda wants, she ruthlessly gets. Her mother Christine (Nancy Kelly), reluctantly made to see her offspring's moral blindness at work, is heartrendingly torn between the love for the child she bore and grief for Rhoda's victims.

From Maxwell Anderson's stage hit, The Bad Seed ticks like a time bomb under the skillful direction of Mervyn LeRoy, who cast several Broadway production originals, including Kelly (recreating the role that won her a Tony), McCormack and Eileen Heckart. Their harrowing performances captured three of this suspenseful movie's four Academy Award® nominations* – and make this thriller one of the great ones.

*1956 Nominations: Best Actress (Kelly), Supporting Actress (Heckart and McCormack) and B&W Cinematography.

As I said... never seen this one... any thoughts? Hopefully it will get here in time to watch this month! :P

It's a little bit slow with a TV movie vibes (not that it was one, but you'll see what I mean when you'll watch) and it's a little bit moralistic from what I remember, but don't worry it isn't bad Pete. I got it back when it was released in 2004 and it countain an interesting commentary with Patty McCormack.

Hopefully it will get here in time to watch this month! :P
This is not something I would call an horror film, this is a drama about a "disturbed" kid.

Turns out she is sending me...

3:10 to Yuma
| Year: 1957 | 92 Min.| IMDb | Trailer/Intro

One of the best of the 1950s classic Westerns, 3:10 TO YUMA stars Glenn Ford as outlaw Ben Wade, and Felicia Farr as the bar girl who falls in love with him. After a holdup and killing, Wade and his gang are captured. Wade's men break out of jail, and now wait for the chance to rescue him. The authorities suspect that a daring escape plan is in the make, so they look for a guard to escort Wade by train to Yuma to stand trial. The marshal offers a bounty and Dan Evans (Van Heflin), a poor rancher hit hard by a crippling drought, takes on the job. His wife pleads with him to save his own life by letting Wade go free, but for Evans, it's a matter of principle as well as money. He takes Wade and begins the dangerous trek to the station.

Insidious
| Year: 2011 | 103 Min.| IMDb | Trailer/Intro

From the makers of Paranormal Activity, INSIDIOUS is the terrifying story of a family who, shortly after moving, discovers that dark spirits have possessed their home and that their son has inexplicably fallen into a coma. Trying to escape the haunting and save their son, they move again only to realize that it was not their house that was haunted.

Will Anavey’s dreams become a reality? Will Anastasia escape the cult before it’s too late? Will the angry mob put an end to the insanity?
