Don't Look Now

Widely acclaimed as one of the greatest horror films ever made, Nicholas Roeg’s (The Man Who Fell To Earth, Bad Timing) masterful Don’t Look Now is based on Daphne Du Maurier’s shattering short story.

Donald Sutherland and Julie Christie give career-best performances as John and Laura Baxter, an art restorer and his wife struggling to recover from the trauma of their daughter’s accidental drowning. To assuage their grief, the young British couple travel to wintry Venice, on a working holiday to restore a church. Once there, they get involved with two otherworldly sisters, Heather and Wendy (Hilary Mason and Clelia Matania) one of whom is a blind medium who insist she can get them in touch with their late daughter and warns them of danger.

A truly original work that blends psychological thriller with a disturbing sense of macabre, Don’t Look Now also offers a profound and poignant mediation on love and loss. Making evocative use of its disquieting, out-of-season setting, an emerging generation of directors (not least Steven Soderbergh) have cited the film as an influence, ensuring that its reputation as a modern classic continues to grow.
Barbarian Queen II: The Empress Strikes Back

In a time long ago, a throne was lost to an evil ruler, and terror reigned throughout the land.   Now, the only hope for a weary kingdom rests in the courage of a beautiful princess, who must become a queen to lead the revolt. The brazen bombshell BARBARIAN QUEEN (LANA CLARKSON) returns to the screen in an adventurous tale of greed, betrayal and triumph!
Splice

Superstar genetic engineers Clive (Adrien Brody) and Elsa (Sarah Polley) specialize in splicing DNA from different animals to create incredible new hybrids. Now they want to use human DNA in a hybrid that could revolutionize science and medicine. But when the pharmaceutical company that funds their research forbids it, they secretly take their experiment underground – risking their careers to push the bounderies of science and serve their own curiousity and ambition. The result is Dren, who exceeds their wildest dreams – and threatens to become their worst nightmare.
Red Riding Hood

Catherine Hardwicke (Twilight) directs a fantasy thriller that puts a haunting twist on the classic fairy tale. For years the villagers of Daggerhorn have maintained an uneasy truce with a werewolf – but the beast changes the stakes by killing the older sister of brave young Valerie (Amanda Seyfried). Promised to marriage to one man but in love with another, Valerie is affected yet again by the creature's bloody actions. When a werewolf hunter warns that the beast takes human form by day and walks among them, panic sets in as the death toll rises. And Valerie learns she has a unique connection to the wolf that inexorably draws them together, making her both suspect...and bait.

Looks like I will have plenty of new movies for my October marathon! Not to mention a few I can watch until then! May I say publicly to my very generous friend.... a very big...

:thanks: :thanks: :thanks: :thanks:

Not sure about Ken's logo, I previously used my own and now the one from this site: :blu: ("blu" with a preceeding and a trailing colon).

How would I fix that? In the plugin I use to do these listings... it uses http://www.invelos.com/images/TP_MediaTypeLogo.png which pulls the image for me.

Sorry Pete I'm not sure  :( . When I saw that was happening I just edited the output file manually after pasting it here into a Post reply window.

FYI: The change was not on Invelos side.
Some versions ago I changed the result of TP_MediaType from "BluRay" to "Blu-ray" because of a user request.
This is why I introduced TP_MediaImageURL.

I found out a friend with a double copy will be sending me...

The Dead Pit

Dr. Ramzi (Danny Gochnauer), a deviant who enjoys torturing his patients, is killed by a fellow doctor and buried in the basement of a mental health facility. Twenty years later, the hospital is up and running again and a "Jane Doe" (Cheryl Lawson) arrives at the institute with amnesia. Upon her arrival, a major earthquake rocks the building and unearths the now undead Dr. Ramzi and his legion of zombie patients so he can continue his work.

Just found out that the following is on the way to me!...

Forbidden Planet

A dutiful robot named Robby speaks 188 languages.  An underground lair offers evidence of an advanced civilization.  But among Altair-4's many wonders, none is greater or more deadly than the human mind.

'Forbidden Planet' is the granddaddy of tomorrow, a pioneering work whose ideas and styles would be reverse-engineered into many cinematic space voyages to come.  Leslie Nielsen plays the commander who brings his spacecruiser crew to the green-skied world that's home to Dr. Morbius (Walter Pidgeon), his daughter (Anne Francis)...and to a mysterious terror.  Featuring sets of extraordinary scale and the first all-electronic musical soundscape in film history, 'Forbidden Planet' is in a movie orbit all its own.
