Heroes Season 3
« on: December 06, 2008, 03:21:28 PM »
As always: Spoiler Alert

Most people didn't like the second season at all. And while I thought it was not as good as the first one, I still liked it.

And I like the twists in the third season on which I just caught up from episode 3x07 to the latest 3x11.

I especially liked 3x08 "Villains". It had such a all-pieces-come-together-Babylon-5-feeling.

Season 2 annoyed me, but I stuck with it. Then I tried to watch Season 3, but gave up after 3 or 4 episodes. Gaining powers, losing powers, dying, not dying... where does it end!? And all the while, who are the "heroes" actually saving? Urgh. It just feels like they now have no real idea of where to take the stpry. I like the feeling that the writers are a step or two ahead, not just coming up with ideas for the sake of it...

Sorry. Don't mean to hijack your thread for a rant, but I'm looking forward to reading the breakdowns to see if it's worth catching up with again. Spoilers be damned! ;D

Ain't hijacking. Is expressing opinions.

Volume 4: Fugitives

Somehow I stopped watching with the two-parter "Eclipse" before christmas and forgot that they had been two more episodes. Today I caught up and continued with the new episode 3x14.

In principle it looks great again but if I am not mistaken they will basically repeat the same schema: One group has a bigger plan, the Heroes are on both side of the front line and some of them will switch sides at a certain point.

But I'd like to see Michael Dorn as President more often and my hope is that Ando's super-chare will maybe re-ignite Hiro's powers because they aren't fully gone.

Another question I am asking myself is whether they are going to end the formula-arc this way or if it comes up again during the fourth volume.

I just watched the finale of the third season. I still like this show very much, but the final episode was a bit weak again. This seems to develop into a pattern.

But still: It's a great show and I love the characters even though they constantly seem to switch sides.
