Juno (with Ellen Page)
« on: December 14, 2007, 10:22:15 PM »
I just want to draw attention to Roger Ebert's glowing review of Juno, starring Ellen Page in the title role. Ebert not only thinks that Page has delivered the best performance of the year, he also thinks it might be this year's best movie.

I can't say if he's right, because I haven't seen the movie yet, but it is one of those very few I look forward to with great anticipation. I discovered Ellen Page last year, and her Haley in Hard Candy for sure was one of the best performances then, although the movie itself had some weaknesses (she also played Kitty Pryde in X-Men 3, but that I haven't seen).

Thank you for posting that. It sounds great. I especially like the passage about her parents. Even the lightest, funniest of films will dive for the cliche negative reactions. If Juno ignores that then Ebert must be right and this must be an original angle.
