You know... not sure why it surprised me that I enjoyed it. I think because I been going years thinking I remembered the series being completely ridiculous... something that would never hold up. So when I got the movie for Christmas this past year... it surprised me that it held up as campy fun. I think I just still haven't convinced myself that I was remembering this series wrong for all these years.

Speed
Hold on tight for a rush of pulse-pounding thrills, breathtaking stunts and unexpected romance in a film you'll want to see again and again. KEANU REEVES stars as Jack Traven, an L.A.P.D. SWAT team specialist who is sent to diffuse a bomb that a revenge driven extortionist (DENNIS HOPPER) has planted on a bus. But until he does, Jack and one of the passengers (SANDRA BULLOCK) must keep the bus speeding through the streets of Los Angeles at more than 50 miles per hour - or the bomb will explode. A high-octane chase of suspense, nonstop action and surprise twists, SPEED is a joyride sure to keep everyone on the edge of their seats.

My Thoughts:
This was either the first or second thing I ever seen Sandra Bullock in... and I have been a fan of her's every since. This is a movie I haven't seen in many years. So long in fact that I went into this movie today not really remembering much of anything other then the main basic plot of the movie. I got to say after watching it that I really enjoyed every minute of it. It is a good non-stop action movie. Sure... there is a lot of scenes in this movie that is unbelievable... but if you can suspend believability this is a great action packed bus trip. When it comes to DVD extras on this release I was a bit disappointed. Sure... there is a couple audio commentaries. But that is all you get. Not even the theatrical trailer... which many of you know is a pet peeve of mine.

My Rating:
Out of a Possible 5

Return to Horror High
In 1982, Crippen High School was the scene of a series of brutal murders. The Killer was never caught. Now, a low-budget film crew that includes an ill-fated leading man (George Clooney), the pretentious director (Scott Jacoby), a lecherous producer (Alex Rocco) and numerous nubile actresses have all returned to Crippen High to film the story of what actually happened. But when members of the production are stalked and slaughtered one-by-one, it appears that the depraved maniac is back. Who will survive the massacre? And what will be left of their careers?

Vince (BEN CASEY) Edwards and Maureen (Marcia from THE BRADY BUNCH) McCormick co-star in this bloody body-count shocker in the tradition of SCREAM and SCARY MOVIE, filled with all the gore, gags and gratuitous nudity that made the '80s a paragon of cinema excellence.

My Thoughts:
This is definitely not the best horror movie I ever seen... but it has it's moments of enjoyment. A nice mixture of comedy... but once again I have seen better. I think my favorite character in this movie was Officer Tyler (Maureen McCormick)... I loved her reaction to the whole situation... it was hilarious. Over-all I would say that this one is an average... maybe slightly above average movie.
