Question about screenshots with PowerDVD
« on: January 17, 2009, 09:06:05 PM »
When I watch movies with PowerDVD it shows them in the correct format, e.g 1.78:1, 2.35:1 and so on.

But when I did a screenshot of the Day After Tomorrow movie (and others, too) they are always 720x576 pixels (1.25:1) and I have to reduce the height to 405 to get a 16:9 picture again.

Has anyone a clue why this happens?

Actually, yes.

As I found out in the Invelos forums, 720*576 is actually the format in which the movies are saved on the DVDs. The player will then stretch them to the correct format.
