Yesterday evening I was going through the menu on cable to see what was on worth recording. I came across the pilot episode of series called 13: Fear is Real....

Imagine the Blair Witch Project as a reality series, and you have grasped the concept for this CW reality series from Sam Raimi. Thirteen contestants are stranded in the Louisiana bayou, and each week one contestant mysteriously 'disappears' as they are eliminated from the competition. The last one standing will win a prize of $66,666.

I just finished watching last night's pilot episode... and I got to say... Wow! I would have loved to been on this game! It looked like a real blast!

First the group is going by bus into the bayou... until the bus can go no further... and you are walking in the middle of the night til you find a cabin in the woods. This is your camp site... and looks like something straight out of Friday the 13th.

Then that night they had to play the first competition. They paired off and first one of the pair goes out to walk outside.... only to get taken... and strapped down... blindfolded into a chair in the middle of the woods. Then the partners are told to go outside where they find cameras and learn that there partners where somewhere in the woods and you had to find them, rescue them and bring them back. The last one to find their partner and bring him/her back... that team loses.

The losing team must later play the execution round... where one becomes the first victim of the game (gets eliminated). But before that happens we learn that there is a locked cage near the cabin... where this is this small box with a demonic symbol on it. next to it a tape recorder (The Mastermind's chosen way to communicate) Saying whoever can sneak this box out of the locked cage can become a "killer" and kill off 3 members of the group. The lock was very easy to figure out.. combination 0 - 1 - 3... We see one girl steal the box... but when the group sees it is missing starts going off about it... and then a few min later we see her chickening out and putting the box back.

Now it is time for the Execution Challenge. The 2 that must play is told to go outside. There they record a goodbye just in case they are gone. Then they start walking down the dark path... where of course they are grabbed and blindfolded. next thing they know their blindfolds are removed and they are in a cemetery... next to 2 dug graves and open pine boxes. They are told to get in the coffins... where the tops are literally nailed down... and they are lowered into the graves and literally buried alive. Then inside the box they hear the Mastermind... telling them there is a way to escape... and the first one to find out how and make it out lives to play another day. The last one is his first victim.

The winner makes it back to camp and plays the loser's goodbye recording for the group. The next thing we know it is morning again. 3 of the group walks out to check on the box in the locked cage. It is gone again. This time we (the viewers) have no idea who took it.

This is one show I will definitely be watching till the end. Like I said... I just wish I could be part of it... I would of had a blast!

I hadn't heard of this one before.  It does sound sort of interesting.

I have been watching this series every week... never missing an episode. I would so love to be on this survival game reality series. As long as I would be able to stay on top of the challenges I believe I would have gone all the way... because these kids (all in 20s) are idiots on here! We are now down from 13 to only 3 left. Unfortunately my favorite contestant was killed off by the killer among the group. Next week is the final episode. So looking forward to seeing how it ends.
