Whatya Ignored?
« on: January 12, 2009, 10:27:26 AM »
Ok, I was bored last night and stumped what films to watch through January.
I have religiously recorded my dvd viewings on dvdprofiler, and thought I would look at my oldest dvds, by date of purchase, in my collection which I have not watched. In many cases I may have seen the films either in cinema or on TV, but only mark in my collection as viewed when I have watched the DVD.
Below are my 20 oldest unviewed purchased titles which I will endeavour to view over the next couple of months.
What are your oldest ignored purchases?

1   raging bull
2   get shorty
3   right stuff
4   species
5   the doors
6   streetcar named desire
7   bridges of madison county
8   ace ventura-pet detective
9   cyborg
10   green berets
11   outland
12   hang em high
13   true romance
14   high plains drifter
15   firestarter
16   money talks
17   a thousand acres
18   above the law
19   jackal
20   gridlock'd

I do exactly the same.

If I double dip an item and get rid of the older version then I do, however, "forward" the watched event from the older to the newer profile.

So, here is my list of the ten oldest unwatched DVDs, meaning I also never saw those films in the cinema or on TV:

1 A Chinese Ghost Story
2 Once Upon a Time in China
3 City War
4 Happy Together
5 Concerts of Wu Bai & China Blue
6 Organized Crime & Triad Bureau
7 The Postman Fights Back
8 Treasure Hunt
9 Rich and Famous
10 Tragic Hero
11 The General
12 Wu Bai & China Blue - The True World Concert Tour
13 Bio Zombie
14 My American Grandson
15 Prison on Fire
16 Wu Bai & China Blue - Winter Fire
17 Le Dernier Combat
18 The Simsons - Treehouse of Horror
19 Wu Bai's Live
20 Bride With the White Hair

As one might see those are mostly Asian movies (which I obtained cheap at the time and was "into" back then...) and some (Asian) concert DVDs.

I am, however, not promising to watch these anytime or even at all

Achim, you really should watch these if you haven't seen them before/for a while then it could be really good to revisit them.

Well, since you boiled it down to a manageable quantity, I'll try to squeeze a few of those in rather sooner than later. I remember starting A Chinese Ghost Story once and failing to finnish, knowing it's like a cult hit... (guess I just defined the starting point too :))

You know what's really scary? Find out the total value of all your unwatched DVDs. In other words, the wad of cash you gave away just fill a shelf. I did, and from conversations in the past I think my unwatched pile is significantly smaller than most. But it was still ridiculous! :bag:
