It's showned at a British film festival, so maybe Jon could help us by watching it and write a review for us
I could have ask to Rich also but, I'm sure it's too frightening for him :tease:

Erm... no. I appreciate the tone of the review, but can't help thinking it still looks like bollocks!

And this could be great, but as it's from The Resident Evil producers, a fact the trailer seems very proud of, literally anything is possible!

Pandorum
Well, it looks like a mix of Resident Evil and Event Horizon... The little creature near the end seems creepy! And did I correctly detect Dennis Quaid in there...?

Just got back from seeing this.

I've read a couple of reviews mentioning Alien, GOD knows why, Event Horizon is closer in tone but I'd say that this is slightly tighter.

If you liked Event Horizon, Doomsday, I am Legend and The Descent the I can't see a reason why you wouldn't like this one.

I like all 4 of those films, so maybe I will check it out. Thanks. ;D

I also like all four of those films! Thanks Michael, I will definitely buy the DVD now (unfortunately the film will probably be out of cinemas by the time I get back to Taiwan).

I watched The Goods: Live Hard, Sell Hard at the weekend, and have got to say that I thought that it was one of the funniest comedies I've seen this year.

Before this thread becomes obsolete...

I didn't know that Guy Ritchie was making a Sherlock Holmes (action hero) movie. Not the thing I would be going for, but I stumbled upon this DVDTimes review, and with Robert Downey Jr and Jude Law, this sounds like it could actually be fun.

Empire reviewed it the other day (3 stars). They seem to come to the same conclusion as DVD Times, that it works best as a starter for a franchise and actually compare it to X-Men, in that Bryan Singer had a tentative start and then really did it properly for part 2. They suggest Ritchie is a bit weak on the action, but it's still fun and they hope like with X-Men, both he and the story are broadened. There's a Joker style hint at Moriarty apparently, so a bit of Reichenbach Falls would look nice!  ;)

What disappointed me though, is they were obviously making excuses by saying it's more of an introduction, albeit great fun, and they go on to allude that the plot isn't remotely taxing. I'd have liked to have heard that the great detective actually has a tough case to crack while still doing the action man bit. Ah, well. Still looks very entertaining!
