Those things are true..though I should have said in denial about certain things in her life..but not her specifically.
Let me see if I can do the spoiler thing ..
What I think she was in denial about were the ...true natures of those relationships. Sheba just saw her as a friend..not as a potential lover and was shocked when she realized that Barbra felt that way. From how I understood how things worked out with Jennifer, Barbra didn't see that relationship correctly either since Jennifer moved to get away and got a restraining order. It seemed like Barbra thought there was more to that friendship than there really was too. And the way the movie ended set it up like she was starting again with the woman she started talking to there in the last few minutes. She would take any overture or gesture of friendship to mean something more.
