ALL THE OTHER GALAXIES WILL BE GREEN WITH ENVY!

In the most epic FUTURAMA ever, dark forces older than time itself are on the attack, hell-bent on stopping the dawn of a wondrous new green age. Don't you hate when that happens? Even more shocking: Bender's in love with a married fembot, and Leela's on the run from the law - Zapp Brannigan's law! Fry is the last hope of the universe, recruited for an ultra-top-secret mission. Could this be the end of the Planet Express crew forever? Say it ain't so, meatbag!

Off we go, Into The Wild Green Yonder!

My Thoughts

I loved Futurama when it was on and I'm still irked about how FOX canceled it.  I've really enjoyed the direct to DVD movies that have been released and I'm hoping that more will be made.

The plot for this one wasn't tied to the previous Futurama movies, so it can stand alone fairly well.  Certain things will make more sense to people who have seen the show though. I did think the plot was interesting and entertaining..it was just odd enough to feel right for Futurama.  Things were mostly resolved by the end of the movie, but it was done in a way that also left open the possibility of more movies.  There was some resolution to the relationship between Fry and Leela as well.  Bender had a little less to do, but he was still around a lot.  Some of the other characters from the series were also back, though they weren't featured as much either.

Overall, this was a great addition to my Futurama collection.  It was very entertaining and fans of Futurama should enjoy the movie.

I got a review posted on Epinions already as well. :)

Broadway bound, the Muppets™ take Manhattan by storm in this magical musical about breaking into show business!

Fresh out of college, Kermit™, Fozzie™ and the entire cast of Kermit's musical "Manhattan Melodies" head for the Big Apple with plans to turn their small play into a big hit! All they need now is someone to produce their show!

But when no one in town will even meet with them, it's up to Kermit to believe hard enough for all of his friends that the show WILL go on! Family entertainment has never been more fun than in this comedy marking Frank Oz's solo directorial debut.

My Thoughts

This is another fun Muppet movie that I still love.  I do remember going to see this one in the theater.  I also remember when it was on HBO when I was staying at my grandmother's in the summer.  I think I watched the movie every time it was on.  This movie has the characters just graduating from college and deciding to head to Broadway.  They end up sleeping in lockers at the bus station while trying to sell the show before they go their separate ways.  Everyone felt they were putting too much pressure on Kermit.  He continued to try to sell the show with help from new friends while Miss Piggy had to try to control her jealous fits.  Piggy was really funny in this one, though her hair didn't work that well.  The movie was silly, but it worked.  This is a great family friendly movie.

It's bolder. Riskier. The most dazzling heist yet. George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon and more reteam with director Steven Soderbergh for a split-second caper that stacks the deck with wit, style and cool.

Danny Ocean again runs the game, so no rough stuff. No one gets hurt. Except for double-crossing Vegas kingpin Willy Bank (Al Pacino). Ocean's crew will hit him where it hurts: in his wallet. On opening night of Bank's posh new casino tower The Bank, every turn of a card and roll of the dice will come up a winner for bettors. And they'll hit him in his pride, making sure the tower doesn't receive a coveted Five Diamond Award. That's just the start of the flimflams. The boys are out to break The Bank. Place your bets!

My Thoughts

I loved the first movie and enjoyed the second one overall even though it wasn't as good as the first.  I thought this one was more like the first one.  The reason for them all getting together again and pulling the job was more believable since they were doing it for Reuben.  Wally Bank was a good villain for the story and I think I ended up liking him less than I did Benedict in the first one.  I liked the planning and plotting that they were doing and thought it made for a very entertaining movie, especially with how everything worked out.  The cast was great.  Brad Pitt and George Clooney work very well together and seemed believable as friends.  Overall, this was a very entertaining movie.

I posted a review on Epinions after I saw the movie in the theater if anyone is interested.

Boog (Martin Lawrence), a domesticated grizzly bear with no survival skills, has his perfect world turned upside down when he meets Elliot (Ashton Kutcher), a scrawny, fast-talking mule deer. They join forces to unite the woodland creatures and take the forest back into nature's control! It's a film for the whole family that Shawn Edwards ('Fox-TV') calls, "a fun story loaded with lovable characters!"

My Thoughts

This is a cute entertaining movie, though it wasn't as good as the Pixar movies.  Boog on a sugar high after having chocolate for the first time was very funny. Some of the humor was a bit silly and there were a few gross jokes, but the movie was entertaining overall.  Boog had been raised basically as a pet and he had no survival skills, so it didn't make the most sense for him to taken out in the wild and left like he was though.  But if that hadn't happened, there wouldn't have been much of a movie.  The voice cast fit their characters very well and there were several cute characters.  The DVD has a cute little animated short with Boog and Elliot too that is funny.

Well I still haven't managed to catch up with posting about what I've been watching..   I need like 10 more hours in a day sometimes I think.
Anyway, I'm still watching stuff other than the few Bond movies I've talked about.  I do want to write a little bit about most of what I watched.  I just need to take some time to do it.  Hopefully soon.

I understand the feeling

I profile much more movies than I watch (I only post what I buy in the Whatyougot topic, not what I get from the web). I do between 20 and 30 dvd every week, it's a lot of works when you have to do everything and search the web for a cover or a poster. Just today I've profiled 16 movies :training:

Wow..that is a lot.
I really haven't done the profiles for any.  Well I tried with one, but evidently messed it up.  And my cover scan in my collection for it is still screwed up.  I tried every setting and it still came out too small.  I haven't taken the time to try to find the cover online.  I may try that eventually.

Journey into the fantastical world of Labyrinth, starring David Bowie and a cast of incredible creatures created by Jim Henson and produced by the Master of Myth, George Lucas! Frustrated with babysitting on yet another weekend night, Sarah (Jennifer Connelly), a teenager with an active imagination, summons the Goblins from her favorite book, Labyrinth, to take her baby stepbrother away. When little Toby actually disappears, Sarah must follow him into the world of the fairy tale to rescue him from the wicked Goblin King (Bowie)! Guarding his castle is The Labyrinth itself, a twisted maze of deception, populated with outrageous characters and unknown dangers. To get through it in time to save Toby, Sarah will have to outwit the King by befriending the very Goblins who protect him, in hopes that their loyalty isn't just another illusion in a place where nothing is as it seems!

My Thoughts

I had just seen a little of this on television years ago, but I kept wanting to get it because of Jim Henson's involvement.  I am a bit partial to anything he's done, especially the Muppets. The movie is very entertaining and all the puppets work wonderfully well.  The movie isn't the most realistic, but I expected that before watching it and I still really enjoyed the movie.  It is unique and entertaining.  David Bowie was good as the Goblin King and Jennifer Connelly did well as Sarah.  There are several songs throughout the movie which is normal for many of Henson's projects.  There is a decent amount of adventure with everything that was going on which helps to keep things interesting.  The pace might seem a bit slow for some people, but I wasn't bothered by it.  There isn't a lot of character development, but that worked out ok overall I think.  I do like the movie.  It is a good, family friendly movie, though a few things might bother younger children.

They all come out at night. That's when you'll meet the weirdos, wannabes, lecherous fiends, nutballs and strange-os - and those are just the people in charge of Criminal Court, Part II, State of New York.

"I like him. He's nuts," a defendant says about judge Harold T. Stone. Magician/comic Harry Anderson portrays Stone, a man with a joy-buzzer sense of courtroom decorum and a gleeful enthusiasm for velvet-voiced scat singer Mel Torme. John Larroquette and Richard Moll, who would team with Anderson through the show's 1984-1992 run of law and disorder, are among the cast of this 13-episode Debut Season presented on 2 discs with a Loaded Docket of Extras. 'Night Court': it's where they'll try anything!

My Thoughts

I watched this show all the time while it was on.  It is a very funny, entertaining show though it could be too silly for some people.  The episodes are very entertaining.  They can all stand alone, though certain things about the characters will make more sense if the episodes are watched in order.  The show focuses on the people that work in one courtroom during the night.  Every episode had at least one case that Harry heard, though some of the episodes have several cases.  I thought that Dan was showing signs of being very funny - he always cracked me up in the later seasons.  It was hilarious when he was running for city council against a dead person yet he still lost the election.  I still really enjoyed the show when I watched the episodes again.

I did get a review of the DVD set posted on Epinions if anyone wants to take a look.

From "Beavis and Butt-head" creator Mike Judge and former "The Simpsons" writer/producer Greg Daniels comes the down-home hit that proves everything is really bigger in Texas - including the laughs! So pull up a chair and join Hank Hill, his family and his neighbors for a beer-drinking, BBQ-ing good time with the hilarious first season of KING OF THE HILL.

My Thoughts

I don't think I started watching this show when it first came out.  It took a little longer for me to get interested in it for some reason, but I've come to really enjoy the show.  Hank and Peggy are likable characters overall even though they can be slightly annoying at times.  The characters are interesting.  Hank's friends are a unique group of characters that manage to work well for the show and everything that is going on.  The animation is done well, though it isn't as good in the first season.  There is a decent amount of humor in the show.  Some things are funnier than others.  This is an entertaining show that I enjoy and I'm glad that I picked it up.

Starsky takes the wheel, Hutch rides shotgun and comedy runs wild in this hilarious twist on the landmark buddy-cop TV show.

Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson bring a playful chemistry to the roles of undercover detectives Starsky and Hutch. Todd Phillips ('Old School', 'Road Trip') directs this '70s groove in which our guys are stripped of their badges, duped by a drug kingpin (Vince Vaughn) and totally ripped off in a disco contest. So, yeah, they got some scores to settle. Snoop Dogg is in fly funkadelic mode as urban coolster Huggy Bear. And Juliette Lewis and others make for nonstop fun. If inducing laughter is a crime, they're all guilty as charged!

My Thoughts

I know a lot of people don't care for this one, but I enjoyed it overall.  I had heard of the television show before seeing the movie, but I don't think I'd seen any of it.  That could be why I ended up liking it.  Several things that happen are rather silly, but I think it made for an entertaining movie overall.  I do usually like Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson, so that is probably part of it too.  There is some action in a few scenes that helps to keep things interesting.
