Although the Thanksgiving meal is great, Chandler is still moody over his parent's divorce during the holiday when he was a boy and Ross is depressed about his second divorce. The group reminisces about their worst Thanksgivings in order to cheer them up, and Monica's worst memory is revealed

Best Friends xmas episode so far, looking back comically to Monica as a fat youngster first meeting hip Chandler, and seeing him and Ross returning back from college as hip 80's wham lookalikes - classic.

Rachel has second thoughts about getting involved with Danny when she observes his uncomfortably close relationship with his sister.

Although this was also listed as a xmas/new year episode, it is purely regarding the time of year the settings are in. The subject matter was pretty far-fetched and childish, so not one of this teams best

Joey is beginning to like Janine more. She gets an invitation to dance on "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve" and invites Joey, Monica and Ross to join her. Monica and Ross are a little too happy about this, as it gives them a chance to finally use their "routine." While Monica is at the taping, Rachel, Phoebe and Chandler search for their Christmas presents.

Funny episode, the 'routine' with Ross and Monica is great, and the hunt for the xmas presents creates some excellent gag lines.

Max witnesses a tragedy and is haunted by the ghost of a man he could have saved, leaving him overwhelmed with guilt and questioning his healing abilities. Isabel, aka the Christmas Nazi, tries to brighten up the holiday season, and Tess tries to become a part of the Valenti family.

I am not a fan of this series, and this episode was just too obvious to be palatable. Max using his powers to cure all of the terminally ill kids in a hospital so redeeming himself for not helping save a father whilst buying a xmas tree, no, much too sweetly nice and predictable. The cast and storylines just feel too plastic for this old cynic, and I do not enjoy them

My Thoughts:
I never had the opportunity to see the original Black Christmas... but I definitely want to. As for this movie... It is pretty good... I did enjoy it... but it isn't the best I ever seen. I would even say it goes too far in some instances. I don't particularly care for incest storylines... but that is just me... not my type of entertainment. It also has a pretty good amount of gore. I don't mind the gore... but is not something I go looking for in movies. This movie does seem to lag for me towards the end... goes on a little longer then I think it needed to.

  Why? You're the horror specialist here, you must watch this great canadian classic very very fast...

Will you give a 5 stars to the non wanted by anyone remake of The day the earth stood still?

Just seen the trailer and it's enough to know that this stupid remake sucks big time 
Common an action scifi remake for an intelligent and brilliant science fiction film

Empire have put up their review of The Day The Earth Stood Still today... 3 stars. Seems mainly for Keanu who couldn't be better suited because otherwise it's a missed opportunity. To be honest, I quite liked the look of the trailer. I love the original, but it could work for a modern audience and suit our own situation. That said I did think they should have tried it as a stand-alone sequel... "Now look, we told you once. This is the last time, dammit!"

Pete, Jimmy is right. You must track down Black Christmas; many consider it the first true formula slasher. I just hope you haven't spoilt it with the remake. I haven't seen it, but they can't have changed the twists.

No way possible to see the original for this month's marathon... but hopefully I will have it for next year's marathon

Oh dear. I like War of the Worlds!

From their review, 3 sounds fair if you bear in mind you have to judge it on its own merits. The fact it's a remake just docks it points for not being original. I get the impression that it is efficiently made and it's a straightforward plot, but it isn't spectacular and a film like this should be epic. 3 says, "meh"... The original is so powerful despite being pretty tame.

I have to admit... watching all this Christmas stuff this month has been a real chore for me. For some reason I just can not get into the spirit of things this year.

I know I usually have a hard time getting into the spirit of things every since my wife past away on Dec. 17th of 1995. (In 6 days she will be gone for 13 years!) But I am usually able to manage to somewhat get into the spirit of things. But not this year... for some reason I just can't seem to manage.

Blue Collar TV: Season 1 Vol. 2 - Christmas
Larry shows Children the "true" meaning of Christmas, using a politically correct fairy tale. Ronnie and Blake try to teach Dooley to walk -- to save Christmas. The Tackett family realizes that there is no where else like the mobile home for the holidays.

My Thoughts:
OK... call me a redneck if you like... but this is a show that never fails to crack me up. I have watched some of these episodes 3 or 4 times now... and I still never fail to laugh out loud. And this episode is no exception. I think my favorite sketch on this episode has to be the politically correct version of "The Night Before Christmas"... talk about hilarious!
