I didn't mind it, although there's a very simple reason why.. I succeeded on my second try! The first try I missed the ramp to jump to the helicopter (I actually ended up back on the roads and lost the guy I was chasing). Second try went very smoothly, though I was running low on ammo..

As for playing through the other choice.. well I didn't see it coming and didn't know about it, so I don't have a save before the choice, so I'll have to replay the whole game for it, and I'm not replaying it at this time. But I'l revisit it eventually, I want to find the flying rats and jumps, as well as do the vigilante missions.
I read this a lot on other forums, people going through on one save when they have the option to make more... I always make many saves and delete them when done, but at least I can go back to a previous point if I screw something up. :)

Howover, don't expect too much from that decision.

So, if you had to go through the entire game just to see the different end, then don't do it. Unless you want to alternate all decisions throughout the game (which there is few). Flying rats and vigilante missions can be done after the story's end all the same.

Fable II sounds to be one of the few exclusive titles on the XBOX360 that I would like to play.

I actually know already what happens on the other choice. My dad did it a few weeks ago. ;)  But I do want to go through the game again once more, to do the few alternate choices I missed, but also to actually do each executions.

As for the multiple save.. I always found it to be a hassle to get back to the hideout just to save, so I never did it
The main reason I used to keep separate saves in previous GTA games was that anytime you died and got arrested, you lost all your weapons. As you know, in GTA IV, you only lose if you get arrested. So instead of just letting myself get arrested, I'd resist arrest, try to get away, and if I can't, blow myself up. So I didn't see any point to keep separate saves.

Yeah I love the game. Both of them actually. They introduce some great RPG concept, such as aging and your character actually changing physically depending on the choices you make when levelling up (choose mêlée skills and the character gets buffed out, choose agility skills he actually grows a bit taller and slender, choose magic skills and he ages much faster and can even get glowing blood vessels!). I think it pushes the role playing to a new level, especially in Fable 2. You can get jobs as woodcutter, swordsmith, bartender, etc. You can get married, have kids. It really feels like you are playing a "role". I just wish the story would change a bit more depending on your actual choices, but I guess I may be asking too much from the medium. Some situations do change according to your choices, but the story as a whole doesn't change all that much.

I played the enitre game twice because the PS3 version received the trophies with a patch later on.

During my second round I chose most alternate choices, except one.

Yeah, me too. I couldn't get myself to permanently kill him either. On my main game, I did one, then reloaded, and did the other. Only time in the game I actually consciously changed a choice (I think).

I just finished Fable 2.

It's a good game, I like the new game mechanics as compared to the original. The problem I have with the game is that it's basically the same story as the first one. You're more free, there's more world to explore because you are not really locked to a set path, but the story itself mimics the original.

And the final boss fight? Can you say totally underwhelming?

Still, Fable is not necessarily about the story, it's more about the experience. And on that, it delivers. There's plenty to do in the game to keep anyone occupied for a long time. And a nice touch is that once you've completed the main quest, you can keep playing. There's even new sidequests that unlock only once you've completed the main story.

Can't wait for Fable 3!

Rumor has it it may be entirely a "Natal game"... Are you prepared to play without controller?

Funny, I read a rebuttal not so long ago from the developper saying they had no intention of using Natal as of yet..

That being said, I think Natal is a great idea. I just hope developers don't overuse it and show some creativity with it, as opposed to Wii developers who are using the Wiimote as a gimmick mostly.

Wow, that rebuttal came indeed quick then. The rumor was also created during the Gamescon...

I agree, motion control must make sense. If used sensibly it may be of good value for the game, if just used gimmicky then it will fail.

I really wish they'll do some sort of hybrid control scheme.

Imagine playing a squad based shooter, where the actual controller is used as it was to aim and shoot, but have hand gestures for squad commands.

Or a driving/flight simulator where you drive with the controller, but it tracks head movement to look around.

I am still not convinced. Currently, if I play a game, I want to sit down, put the feet on the table and don't move anything at all, other than the fingers needed for the controller...

I'l keep an eye out for the developments nonetheless.

Or my arms when trying to drive around that hairpin bend.

:hysterical:

Yeah, I do similar things too, of course.

A friend of mine occasionally will raise the controller by 50cm (20") of he wants the character on screen to move up

Moving the controller is not something I do usually. I'm rather calm when playing a game.

I will mash hard (too hard) on a button if the character doesn't seem to do what I want it to do, and the playing area may become hazardous (flying controllers) if I get infuriated.

In that case I'd recommend you don't buy Shadow Complex for the Xbox. My flatmates have had to endure more swearing than an Eddie Murphy stand-up and a foul, foul temper and we're just lucky we have double glazing or the controller (and console) probably would have ended up going through it. And that was just from the training area.  :voodoo:
