I tought this would be of interest for some people.

The Halloween 2 release will countains the theatrical version and the TV version (on a separated disc). I also edited my previous message to add the confirmed extras.

That is some decent extras on Halloween II! But I already have the previous release which had Terror in the Aisles as a bonus feature.

The best news or me was, when Shout! Announced this new series of releases, that they are also planning to release John Carpenter's They Live soon after the two Halloween ones :yahoo:

In the first batch they have announced the only other I'm interested in is Terror Train mostly because it's a French Canadian co-production.

I already have The Funhouse, Phantasm 2 and They Live (region 2) and don't see a reason to upgrade. Death Valley and The Island sound boring to me. Deadly Blessing is from Wes Craven and since nothing he did after The Hills Have Eyes was that good I'll keep my money for something else.

See my banner I just watched They Live this week :P

I'm up for a quadruple dip on They Live. I currently have the UK Blu-ray, UK DVD and even the Polish DVD (for the full bitrate DTS track). I find Shout! to be hit and miss when it comes to transfers though...

I have They Live on a cheap Hong Kong transfer that begs to be upgraded.

The Funhouse is something I should check whether I want it or not (is that the one with Chrisopher Lee in it?). Same goes for Death Valley and The Island. I am not sure I have heard of Deadly Blessing before, or is that a renamed title?

I'm lucky as the region 2 transfer is a good one without mentionning it had a commentary with Piper and Carpenter.

No it's the one who happened in an attraction park. Not a bad movie per se, just to PG for my taste, but didn't find it as good as I remember when I did rewatch it last year (but it scared me when I was a kid).

Just saw on the front page that Pete wrote a review for it that you can read here. Pete only gave it a three and a half star...

From Amazon Canada (august releases)

During the final days of Slobodan Milošević’s Serbian rule, a young film student named Marko (Mihajlo Jovanovic) becomes desperate to make a feature film. Finally getting a job as an adult film director, he quickly runs afoul of the mob and needs to get out of town fast! Assembling a travelling “porno cabaret” with a group of misfits, Marko and his new friends ride though the quiet countryside in a beat up van performing live sex acts for peasants and farmers. But, life is hard on the road and they are barely making enough money to survive. Marko meets a shady snuff film producer who says they can make a lot more money shooting actual murders, theatrically “performed” on willing participants. This is one offer the struggling porno gang cannot refuse!

Special Features :

“Made in Serbia” (101 min.) – Feature length documentary on the Serbian adult film industry
Making Of
Deleted Scenes
Theatrical Trailer
Alternate/Explicit Reversible Cover Art

It's a repackaging of the previous releases, but as I don't have them and the price is quite low, why not....

edit : changed for the blu-ray release who had an exclusive documentary...

By the way if A Serbian Film was offensive to you, you better not watch this one. So Jon this isn't for you

From your previous description I thought maybe they went for a back comedy approach, but the trailer shows me they are just doing gross-out stuff again. It lost me entirely about half way thorugh.

A Serbian Film, from what I know, was offensive on a whole different level though.

This one is supposed to be more professional than A Serbian Film that I have rewatch today and did realize his flaws (the acting leave a lot to desired, the prosthetic on the main actor looks ridiculously fake and there is a big plot hole concerning the end). This one is supposed to have a political point of view attached to it and to be more than a shocking movie. Of course it depends of the tolerance level a viewer have as it countains real sex, murder effects and fake bestiality.

Edit : The way I see it is that it's possible the first act is mostly comedy, but the second act where the "snuff" thingy start will the beginning of the shocking and dark materials.

Not really a pre-order but in my book it is

BTW I haven't talk about it on the forum (except by PM to one member) because I wasn't sure anyone else would care, but if you are tempted you have more five days even if the goal is reached and broken (in fact it tooks less than a week to reach it). After that you will have to pay full price...

So I'll get my all time favorite film, The Opening of Misty Beethoven, on Blu-Ray, DVD and some others little things in july / august because of the money I did contribute ;D

P.S : I know Steven the owner, you have nothing to fear as he is one of the greatest guy is the bussiness

Pre-ordered (blind) this for £10 from Amazon UK.

I'm looking forward to finally checking this out (assuming it hasn't been cancelled). Certainly a cheaper option than the Taiwanese release (which is super-cool and mega-tempting too).

Is that the Taiwan movie that was released as two parts in teh cinema last year? In which case they are not being very clear on the cover that it is not directed by John Woo...?
