I know Kathy, but making a living hell of a person life for this sound just to extreme to me

I know it may seem extreme but I can't help it, I have always been this way. I just don't tolerate cruelty to animals in any form at all. To me there is no punishment great enough for a human who believes they have the right to torture animals, especially a defencless one like a cat. So maybe I am irrational right now? That is most likely true but that's how I am. When I was in Primary School (about 9 years old) I once punched a boy becuase he wouldn't stop throwing pine cones at the parrots in the trees. I have been the same way ever since.

Just saw a great blog actually taking a swipe at Sky News who have apparently gone OTT with reporting this, including in-depth analysis of the video. At the end they make a point I was thinking of... what about all the cruelty that hasn't been caught on camera?

I hope she is prosecuted, because that's the right thing to do, but there are far worse examples of cruelty that have to go unpunished due to lack of evidence. This woman would become the scapegoat/poster girl for a lot more cruel acts.

I do the same, Sophie. But the point is, you punched someone you knew personally for a direct act of cruelty: cause and effect and hopefully he learned. Trial by Internet is not so clear and as I said above, disproportionate, because she'll simply be a face for much worse acts. And I'm sure you know there is a hell of a lot worse out there. Only the other week I saw a report with police breaking into a car at a festival. The guy left two dogs in the back and one had already died from the heat. But we'll never know who he was because there wasn't a camera conveniently catching him in the act.

Of course I know there is worse out there Jon, but that shouldn't excuse the smaller offences which are still horrible. A lot of people seem to be overreacting about these 'death threat' groups on the internet. I mean really, look up Justin Bieber or Miley Cyrus on the internet and I'm sure you will find plenty of death threats. Things like that on facebook are almost always a load of tripe, no one takes it seriously, there are death threats left right and centre without anyone actually being in danger, it's just a way of people showing their disgust.

The reason I am happy about the internet getting so involved with this is becuase it's such a powerful tool now in shaming someone. This woman did something stupid that she thought she would get away with, but instead the internet found out and she has now been humilated worldwide, with thousands of people she doesn't even know voicing their opinions of how horrible she is. This alone is often a better punishment than any fine ever could be.

Maybe they should tell this to some peoples who kill themselves because of this type of internet harasment...

We couldn't had more of an oposite view here. Making a living hell of a person life isn't a reason to be happy...

Large internet death threat pages for small reason are very different to suicides related to online bullying. In fact I hardly even see how the two are related.
As I said, I doubt anyone is taking those threats seriously, it's just something people do. It's a way of expressing anger for thousands of people who can't actually do anything at all about a situation.

Maybe I should make a "I want to kill Stephen Harper" website with a lot of killing idea just to check if the RCMP would take the threats seriously and see if the tribunal would find that funny... The last time I check making death threats was illegal everywhere in the world and the web wasn't in an imaginary dimension...

BTW online harasment and online bullying are exactly the same thing in my world. Explain me the differences you see and not the "it isn't serious" justification that isn't an explanation at all...

Logitech seems to have a new way to watch TV coming up and they had a multiple part advertisement going..

Here's part 1:

Which was followed by part 2:

Which should've been followed by part 3, but it seems it was badly received, so they pulled it and released part 4 early:

Thing is, if you ask me, part 3 is the funniest of the bunch! What's so bad about it? (you can see part 3 on the link below)
http://www.engadget.com/2010/08/28/logitechs-lonely-tv-part-3-google-tv-ad-pulled-part-4-steps/

I think it's a brilliant piece of advertisement! All four parts - and any other to come if there are any. As far as ads go, I like these!

I have another horror story, this one local. A few weeks ago a man was pulled over by the police right around the corner from my house. The officer heard a meowing sound coming from the trunk. The man told the officer he was marinating his cat in olive oil and spices. He planned on eating the poor animal because it was "mean". Here is the story from the Buffalo News: http://www.buffalonews.com/city/article97630.ece

I'm sorry - make this a happy thread again.

Or...I could tell you what has been happening with my crack head neighbors that just got out on bail.

Please don't. I find drug stories even more depressing than senseless animal cruelty. Especially since losing one of my good friends to them ......

Okay, we obviously aren't going to agree here and that's fine, but I don't want to argue it futher. Basically you believe that the all the internet attention is overreacting to the situation, and I believe that you are overreacting to the internet attention. We should just leave it at that.

I have a question to Kathy and Critter.

...Last week I took my cat to the vets, they told me he was overweight and would probably develop liver failure because "I over fed my cat"... this is supposedly an act of cruelty.

....I was so angry we walked straight out of the surgery and to another vet.... All I wanted was to get him his yearly injections.

....I am not the only person I know to have walked out of a veterinary surgery for this reason.... Infact, just last week my neighbour walked out when the vet told her that it was cruel for her to purely feed her dog dried biscuits.

...So, is this cruelty?

Now, back to some youtube video

...this is NSFW

...I think its hilarious lol....

they also have a few more songs.... the Double Dragon and Mega Man II ones are great... of course... I may love them because I grew up playing those games :p
and am blinded by my child hood! :p

(not the biggest rap fan ..... but)
