 Love it! I miss Frasier.

I think this is the right place to post this, because it at least does lead to a collection of funny videos, but first you have the opportunity to take part in an important social experiment. What is the funniest Whoopee Cushion sound?

It's a university that is studying why things are funny and they've set up the site in time for Red Nose Day here in the UK. I just realised. You internationally based forin peeps do know what a Whoopee Cushion is, don't you? ???

The other day when I went to the cinema, I had to sit through 25 minutes of adverts before two trailers and finally! The bloody film I actually paid to watch.

But, all that said, T-Mobile's latest advert is a cracker...

tmobile dance

By the way, this being an international forum, how many ads do you have to sit through at the pictures?

Depends on the cinema, but 20-30 minutes before the movie starts in the big cinemas sounds about right. We often go to small cinemas when watching non-mainstream movies, and there is no or only few adds.

Don't know. Last I went to the theater was for Star Wars The Phantom Menace - I went countless times while I was waiting for my girlfriend to finish work at the theater.

Before that, it was Terminator 2. So you can see I love theater ;)

In my theatre it's about a 20 minutes mix of ads and trailers (way more ads though) then a Langnese spot, then the icecream sellers and then another 10 minutes of trailes. Then the "You may have bought a ticket but we still think you are a movie pirate* and you are trying to copy our movie from this screen and we will sue you" text panel. And then the movie.

* In Germany they have invented the term "Raubkopierer" (Raub = armed robbery, Kopierer = a person who makes copies).

And they show these "nice" spots:

(When does dad return? Four more times of singing.)

(Yet another movie pirate. But mine has the nicer ass.)

Wow... When did that happen? When I still lived in Germany I remember it being approx 20min of ads and trailers... But it's 30 now? That's crazy!

When I came to Taiwan 12 years ago they would only play a few trailers! I was in heaven. In recent years they have started playing one or two PSAs, then about 5-10 ads before playing 2-3 trailers. All in all it takes about 10-15 minutes, depending where you are and what time it is. I remember I used to watch the matinee shows on Sundays for a while, as they would play the (ads and) trailers before the official starting time. So, if you went in at the correct time the movie would start right away :) Haven't dome that in a while, so I am not sure if it has changed. --- The IMAX, being more expensive, is annoyance free.
