Do you watch several TV shows on DVD "at the same time"?
« on: August 27, 2007, 12:55:45 PM »
Hi,

I don't mean - of course - if you watch them simultaneously on two TVs at the exact same time.

What I mean is: Do you watch TV show seasons in a row or do you watch a disc of this and then a disc of that...

Last weekend I watched 3 different shows, 4 discs of "JAG", 2 discs of "ER" and two discs of "Babylon 5".

It happens often that I watch a season of a show "en bloc" but it happens equally as often that I watch one evening one show and the next evening a completely different show.

What's your usual behaviour?

When I am not doing a marathon... then yes I do watch them a disc here and a disc there type thing... as of right now I have 16 different box sets that I started.

When I decide to start a TV series/season, I will always watch it all the through before watching anything else.

That means, say I watch disc 1 of CSI tonight. Well, I will watch the 5 other discs of the season, before I even consider watching another TV series, or even a movie. It is very rare that I will switch to something else before watching the current one all the way through.

I even never pause a movie, except in some very rare circumstances that are usually completely out of my control.

I don't mind watching them parallel.

E.g., currently I am watching Freaks and Geeks (which is a rather lengthy process, as I am watching the commentary right after each episode) and also Doogier Howser, M.D. I just received South Park Season 10, so I'll probably throw that in for good measure. Watching two at a time allows me to choose what to watch depending on my mood and time available.

But mostly I will stick to one series at a time.

I like to watch them one at a time, especially if I'm really into the show I just cant tear myself away to watch something else until I have finished with the one I started.

Oh... I definitely get that way at time too. But I do like trying to make a set last as long as humanly possible. So do try to do just a disc here and there when I can... especially when a show only lasted 1 season... or I am on the final season and know that there will be no more  episodes I never seen to come.
