Help Me Decide....
« on: August 23, 2007, 01:30:11 AM »
OK... I decided it was time to attempt another marathon ... before things around here get too crazy and I am running around all the time with my mother. So I want to do another TV Series marathon... like I did for Smallville. But I can't decide which series I feel up to.

I narrowed down my choices to the top ten that I feel like I could watch.... Now I need your help to narrow it down to just one. So what do you think?... what would you all like to see me do a marathon viewing of??? Let me know... I am all set to start!  :tv:

I chose Veronica Mars because I just received Season 1 as a gift; I don't know anything about it and I enjoy reading your commentary on the movies you watch! A purely selfish reason I know; I will now go into the corner and hide in shame! :bag:

I voted for Dark Angel because I just finished watching it myself and I would LOVE to hear your comments on it.

Veronica Mars works too though, as I've watched that recently too ;)

The only other one in your list I know of is Tru Calling, but I wouldn't want you to go through that torture again with the Fox hating and blasphemy to the powers-that-be all over again  :tease:

OK... I wanted to start my marathon first thing this morning... so with only the 2 votes here is what I decided to do (or at least attempt). Since both series that was voted for I have only 2 seasons for... I think I can handle 4 seasons before things get too hectic around here. So I am going to have 2 marathons. One right after the other...

First...
Veronica Mars
A little bit Buffy. A little bit Bogart. A dash of Nancy Drew. 'Veronica Mars' takes the best and brainiest of the American culture of crimesolving and adds a unique vision of its own -- brooding, edgy, darkly funny and just plain dark -- to become one of the hottest, sleekest series of the new century.

Veronica (Kristen Bell) is an outcast in a trendy SoCal beach town. Once she ran with Neptune High's in crowd. But she's on the outside after her best friend is murdered and her sheriff father accuses the wrong man as the perp: the dead girl's billionaire father. Dad loses his job, Veronica loses her popularity and both struggle to build a detective agency and new lives. E-mail scams, cults, car thefts -- you name it, Veronica investigates it. But her obsession is the murder of her friend. And she'll take any risk to solve it.

I picked Veronica Mars first because of 2 reasons... It was the first one to get a vote... and Ross said Veronica Mars works too.

Then..
I will watch the 2 seasons of Dark Angel.
From producer James Cameron (Titanic, Aliens, Terminator 2: Judgment Day) comes a new face of the future: Max, a sexy, genetically engineered woman on the run from her military creators, Max is determined to remain free even as she searches for the others of her kind. Set in a bleak near future where an electromagnetic pulse has plunged the country into economic and political collapse, Dark Angel captivated television audiences and garnered awards for hot, young star Jessica Alba.

Which of course is what got the other vote... and perhaps something that we can add to Kathy's wishlist!  ;)

Overall sounds like fun... a good week or two of a couple strong women... and there is nothing I love more then a strong woman!

OK... off to  :tv:

I didn't have time to vote! I'd wanted to hear your thoughts on Greatest American Hero and whether it stood the test of time. I loved that series when I was kid. So much I can remember the theme tune, word perfect:

"Suddenly I'm on top of the world, and I dee-dee-da-de-daaa-something- dum ... who's that erm up there, oh it's me!" Aah, memories!  :P

LOL... yeah.. was a really short poll... I put it up last night to have something to start this morning.

For me Greatest American Hero stood up just fine. I really enjoyed watching the series again after all those years (never caught it in reruns). Who knows... if I can fit it in,... that just may be #3 on my list of TV Show Marathons to do.  :P
