Universal Home Video has announced a special edition of the Mike Hodges  directed Flash Gordon which stars Melody Anderson, Timothy Dalton, and Sam J. Jones. The "Saviour of the Universe Edition" will be available to own from the 7th August, and should retail at around   $26.98. The film itself will be presented in 2.35:1 anamorphic widescreen, along with an English Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround track. Extras have yet to be revealed.

I just ordered mine from Amazon. (I have the original release DVD.)

I was a bit disappointed with the sound mix. I had really hoped for a great 5.1 mix of Queen's soundtrack. Most of the music was up front only and was seriously lacking any bass.

The movie itself was just as I remembered. I'm not sorry I bought it, but would have been happier if I had waited a while till it hits the bargain bin
