Since I recently finished off the Sliders marathon I was doing I thought I would bring another marathon back from the dead to play catch up on now that I have more seasons. Since I last worked on this marathon I have gotten 2 more seasons. So from here I will SLOWLY work my way through seasons 7 and 8.

SEASON 7: Disc 1

EPISODE 1: BIZARRO
A flood of excitement: Lois, Chloe and Lex are in peril after Reeves Dam breaks. The Phantom Zone escapee who absorbed Clark's DNA must be stopped. But how? MARTINA MANHUNTER has an idea.

My Thoughts:
This was a good episode. I enjoyed it quite a bit. At first I didn't think I would... but I do like how they decided to do Bizzaro.

My Rating:

EPISODE 2: KARA
Blonde. Beautiful. Bad attitude. Kara may have some catching up to do after she stops trying to clobber Clark into the next millennium. After all, they're from the same Kryptonian family.

Also: Lex finds Lana.

My Thoughts:
Another episode I enjoyed a lot. I really liked the way Supergirl (Kara) came out on the series. I also enjoyed the explanation of what happened with Lana.

My Rating:

EPISODE 3: FIERCE
Clark councils Kara to keep a low profile and couches her on how to keep her powers in check. So she enters a swim-suited Miss Sweet Corn Pageant – not exactly what Clark intended. Love – and Lana – are back in Clark's life.

My Thoughts:
Another fun episode. I must say... Kara looked great in that bikini! And I liked the story of the beauty contestant meteor freaks going after the map in the time capsule.

My Rating:

EPISODE 4: CURE
Got a meteor-rock problem? A neurosurgeon claims he can return meteor-infected people to normality. Lana hides a $10-million secret and Chloe and Jimmy face a rift in their togetherness.

My Thoughts:
This is a pretty cool episode. I really enjoyed it. It was cool to see Dean Caine (who played Superman on Lois and Clark) guest star on the show.

My Rating:

SEASON 7: Disc 2

EPISODE 5: ACTION
Lights, camera – excitement comes to SMALLVILLE when a film crew shoots a movie based on Warrior Angel comics... and when Clark's heroics parallel the adventures of the comicbook hero. Meanwhile, Lionel lives!

My Thoughts:
This is an enjoyable episode. It definitely keeps your interest. I thought it was pretty cool making a movie on the Kent farm.

My Rating:

EPISODE 6: LARA
I remember Mama. Captured and subjected to a KRYPTONITE truth syrum, Kara has astonishing memories of her prior time on Earth – memories that Clark accidentally locks into and shares when he rescues her.

My Thoughts:
An interesting episode. I liked getting to see Clark's real mother. Though I did feel with so much of the background info it was a little on the slow side. But it didn't hamper my enjoyment any at all.

My Rating:

EPISODE 7: WRATH
This is so cool! Lana's ecstatic, but Clark is wary after a fluke lightning strike gives her some of Clark's powers. Our hero soon has reason to be cautious: Emboldened Lana sets out to destroy Lex!

My Thoughts:
An absolutely fun episode! I loved how Clark and Lana uh... destroyed the barn! LOL Besides all the fun there is also a good, interesting story. This is one of my favorite episodes.

My Rating:

EPISODE 8: BLUE
Is human emotion clouding Clark's judgement? He falls prey to ZOR-EL's ruse, leading to a clash at the Fortress of Solitude. The link between Lex and DAILY PLANET editor Grant is revealed!

My Thoughts:
Another good epiosde. I like that they got Helen Slater to play Clark's mother in the episodes that has Lara... after all.. she did play Supergirl in the movie. Though I would admit it is a little on the slow side.

Season 7: Disc 3

9. GEMINI
There's something different about Clark when he comes back after weeks away at the Fortress. And there's little different about Grant and the Belle Reve inmate who plants a bomb on Chloe.

My Thoughts:
I completely forgot this episode was a Christmas episode. But that could be because Christmas is really only a backdrop to the episode. It is a pretty good episode. Not the best I ever seen... but entertaining.

My Rating:

10. PERSONA
Clark seems like a new person with Lana (and she's definitely not complaining). Meanwhile, BRAINIAC seeks a remedy to his plight, Grant reaches out to his father and a certain red-jacketed person resurfaces.

My Thoughts:
A pretty good episode but once again not a favorite. But it does have it's moments. I really don't care too much for the Grant storyline.

My Rating:

11. SIREN
Bird – and secrets – uncaged. Lex enlists the aid of the mysterious BLACK CANARY/DINAH LANCE. Lois learns the truth about Oliver's alter ego. And Clark and Lana struggle to get beyond the Phantom affair.

My Thoughts:
Now this episode I really liked. One of my favorites. I mean we got the Black Canary, Green Arrow and Lois finds out Oliver's secret. Lots of fun!

My Rating:

12. FRACTURE
No exit. Lex is wounded and in a coma after locating Kara, so Clark uses experimental technology to enter his mind and discover Kara's whereabouts. He may never get back out: Lex flatlines, trapping Clark inside.

My Thoughts:
This is a good... but somewhat weird episode. But I think that is to be expected when we take a trip into Lex's mind. After a bit of a break we have Kara back. Even if she still has amnesia.

My Rating:

Season 7: Disc 4

13. HERO
Look who's back. Clark is thrilled to catch up with Pete Ross, his old school pal. And he's dismayed to discover Pete has acquired a meteor power that could leave him vulnerable to exploiters like Lex.

My Thoughts:
This is a good episode. I enjoyed it quite a bit. It was good to see Pete Ross back... been too long without him. I still hope to see him on the show again before it is all over. One thing I have to say about this episode. I don't think they could be more obvious about product placing then they are here. Talk about going overboard.

My Rating:

14. TRAVELER
Someone's taken Clark – now Lana and Chloe are taking action.. Knowing that only a revitalized Kara can free Clark from his kidnappers, they bring her to the Fortress to restore her powers. The Luthors clash over the secret society called Veritas.

My Thoughts:
This is a good episode. We now have Supergirl/Kara back. It also makes you wonder if Lionel really is good now or not.

My Rating:

15. VERITAS
Brainiac knows how to convince Kara that she should join his efforts – hurt someone close to her and Clark. Lex recalls events that related to Veritas. Jimmy and Lois piece together clues while investigating the death of Patricia Swann.

My Thoughts:
This is a pretty good episode. Though not as good as the last few. For some reason this one just didn't really hold my interest as much.

My Rating:

16. DESCENT
Lex is driven to discover the secret of Veritas, even if it sets his life on a path of no redemption...even if it means the murder of someone near to him. Another killer also surfaces, a mysterious figure who may be determined to protect Clark's secret.

My Thoughts:
I enjoyed this one. It ios time to say goodbye to one of the main cast. Shame... I always liked the character whether he was playing a good guy, a bad guy or if you just weren't sure.

My Rating:

I didn't like that Veritas arc at all. It was one of the worst retcons I've ever seen and even then it was bad story-telling.

Smallville Season 1 is basically a "Freak of the Week" show. The longer arcs are only starting in the second season, but I still enjoy it very much. I believe Smallville's pilot is my second-most-often-watched pilot (the first being Buffy).

Jeremy: I'm not in pain. I have a gift. And a purpose. And a destiny!
Clark: So do I.

Yeah... Veritas is probably my least favorite arc so far... but I am still able to enjoy it some.

Season 7: Disc 5

17. SLEEPER
Agent Double Uh-Oh: Government agents coerce Jimmy into spying on Chloe because of her suspicious computer activities. Kara sends a strange message to Clark... from Krypton. Lex finally obtains and opens the doubvle-keyed safe-deposit box.

My Thoughts:
Interesting episode. Not  100% sure how much I liked it. There was things I liked about it as well as things I didn't. But over all I think I enjoyed it well enough to say it is an above average episode.

My Rating:

18. APOCALYPSE
Clark time-travels to Krypton to confront Brainiac, but not before he experiences an alternate-reality vision of what the world would be like without Clark Kent – a world where the person with his finger on the nuclear trigger is U.S. President LEX LUTHOR.

My Thoughts:
Another interesting epiosde. Like many series has... this is an "alternate world"... "what if I never came to be" type story. I think they did a pretty good job on it. I like the way they explained all his friends having a good life at first... making him think the world is better without him.

My Rating:

19. QUEST
A strange attacker from Zurich strikes again, this time leaving mysterious Kryptonian symbols carved into Lex's chest. Clark connects the symbols to a cathedral in Montreal... and meets grave peril when he arrives there.

My Thoughts:
I really am starting to tire of the whole Veritas arc. It has always been my least favorite arc of the series... though I can enjoy the episodes. This one while not bad... continuing the storyline I don't care for much brought it down a bit.

My Rating:

20. ARCTIC
Is Kara really Kara? If not, who is she? Will Jimmy be Lex's lap dog? Or will he stand up to the blackmail? Will Lana be Clark's forever love? Or will she be forever gone? Will Lex accept the truth he finally discovers? If not, will it push him into madness?

My Thoughts:
This is a good conclusion to the season. I enjoyed it quite a bit. Of course it leaves us with cliffhangers for the cast just like the previous years. So now I am kinda looking forward to starting my season 8 set.

My Rating:

Over-all Season 7 Thoughts
While not my favorite season... it has some good episodes. I could have went without the whole Veritas storyline. But over all it is worth adding to your collection.

Season 8: Disc 1

1. ODYSSEY
Helps on the way: JUSTICE LEAGUE members — GREEN ARROW, BLACK CANARY and AQUAMAN — search for the missing Clark. Chloe is meanwhiile held captive by a sinister group eager to exploit her amazing new IQ.

My Thoughts:
The episodes with other superheroes has always been some of my favorite epiodes. And this one is no different. I enjoyed every minute of it. Not only do we get to see the Green Arrow, Black Canary and Aquaman again... but also The Martian Manhunter comes back as well.

My Rating:

2. PLASTIQUE
Welcome to the Daily planet, reporter Clark Kent — now get to work! Clark shifts into heroic mode to rescue victims of an explosion. Who caused it? A troubled teen named Bette may know the answer. Also: One of the EMTs at the disaster scene is...Davis Bloom.

My Thoughts:
Another episode I really enjoyed! This is my second time seeing the episode (counting the orginal airing) and I was glued to my set watching it!

My Rating:

3. TOXIC
OLIVER QUEEN, poisoned and near death, recalls his first use of a bow and arrow. Is there someone whose lightning-like data-processing powers can find an antidote to the toxin? And will Tess also be a victim of the poison.

My Thoughts:
Another good episode. Though not quite as good as the previous two. I liked how they worked in somewhat of an origin story for the Green Arrow. showing how he got good with the bow and arrow.

My Rating:

4. INSTINCT
She's searching for a man who is her equal, Maxima, whose kiss is fatal to mortal men, arrives on Earth, looking for her KRYPTONIAN soul ,ate. She locks eyes on Jimmy, will they lock lips?

My Thoughts:
I enjoyed this one quite a bit as well. It seems, going by this first disc, that I may be able to say that season 8 is going to be a better season then 7.

Season 8: Disc 2

5. COMMITTED
Truth or die. A weirdo kidnaps couples and subjects them to a lie-detector test. His new captives: Chloe and Jimmy. Searching for the missing duo: Lois and Clark, who pose as a couple...and are forced to take the test.

My Thoughts:
This is a good episode. I got a kick out of Lois getting drunk and making a not so approving toast at Chloe and Jimmy's engagement party.

My Rating:

6. PREY
Clark wants to check the ISIS FOUNDATION files for information that could help him zero in on a serial killer, but Chloe is determined to protect the foundation's confidentiality. Davis has his own hunch about the ID of the killer – Davis himself!

My Thoughts:
Another good episode. This one they bring the Doomsday storyline a little further.

My Rating:

7. IDENTITY
Clark was warned something like this might happen. By chance, Jimmy is at the scene of one of the unknown hero's exploits and snaps a photo that could reveal Clark's secret. Chloe takes drastic, unexpected action against memory thief Sebastian Kane.

My Thoughts:
Another episode I liked quite a bit. Jimmy has figured out Clark's secret... and they need to convince him that Clark is a normal person.

My Rating:

8. BLOODLINE
After an inadvertant foray into the PHANTOM ZONE with Clark, Lois returns to Metropolis...under the control of FAORA, wife of ZOD, who has taken over the reporter's body. Davis, too, turns out to have an unexpected connection to Faora.

My Thoughts:
A pretty good episode. Not quite as interesting as some of the other episodes I have watched recently... but not bad either. IT brings the Doomsday story along pretty nicely.

My Rating:
