Season 2: Disc 5:

EPISODE 17: ROSETTA
Determined to find out where he came from, Clark travels to New York to meet Dr. Virgil Swann (Christopher Reeve), a brilliant scientist who possesses a message for Clark from his home planet.

My Thoughts:
Another really good episode... but then how could you not like an episode of Christopher Reeve in it? I loved that homage to the Superman movies by having a clip of the Superman theme playing in the background.

EPISODE 18: VISITOR
Perhaps Clark is not alone on Planet Earth. A student with unusual interests and powers believes he's an alien - and he wants Clark to help him return to his far-off home world.

My Thoughts:
An OK episode... nothing really special here.

EPISODE 19: PRECIPICE
Clark must do community service and his family is slapped with a lawsuit after he roughs up men who hassled Lana. Lex tries to protect Helen from a deranged former boyfriend.

My Thoughts:
Again a decent episode ... nothing too special... other then it being the first episode where Lana starts to learn self defense. I have to admit though... I don't care much for the new sheriff.

EPISODE 20: WITNESS
Thugs who dain enormous strength by inhaling kryptonite mist leave Clark feeling powerless when they attack Jonathan and Martha. Lionel has a manipulative offer for Chloe.

My Thoughts:
This is a good episode... I enjoyed it. This is the start of a little feud between Clark and Chloe... which I don't care for... and it goes further then it should of... but it does make for a good storyline.

Season 2: Disc 6:

EPISODE 21: ACCELERATE
Years ago, a terrible accident took Lana's childhood friend Emily. But now a ghostly Emily resurfaces in Lana's life, and the secret to the little girl's renewed existence lies in the laboratories of Lionel Luthor.

My Thoughts:
This is one of my all time favorites! I can't for the life of me believe that the classic movie "House on Haunted Hill" actually put a scare into Lana!  But the fact that it had ever so slight horror genre appeal to it made me love this episode as I love horror!

EPISODE 22: CALLING
The specialist hired to interpret the Smallville cave pictographs acquires astonishing powers and a new mission: kill Clark! Helen and Lana both have doubts about their relationship with the men in their lives.

My Thoughts:
We are really starting to get into the mythology arc of the show at this point. For me this episode is enjoyable... but not the best episode I ever seen.

EPISODE 23: EXODUS
Clark will go with Lana or without her. But he's leaving Smallville for keeps. The fledgling superhero turns his back on family, friends and destiny after his decision to destroy the spaceship brings unintended tragedy.

My Thoughts:
Great cliff-hanger episode. Enjoyed it... but hated to see Chloe get so jealous that she turns on Clark the way she did.

Season 2: Overall Thoughts:
This was a really good season. Started to do less of the Freak of the Week episodes and concentrated more on the origins of Clark. Not that I don't like the Freak of the Week episodes.. because I definitely do... I like both styles. It was awesome to see Christopher Reeve in an episode this season.

Season 3: Disc 1:

1. Exile (Part 1)
Under the influence of red kryptonite, Clark is following a life of crime in Metropolis while his friends and parents desperately try to find him. Lex is forced to confront his personal demons on a desert island, while Lionel holds a funeral for his presumed-dead son.

My Thoughts:
A nice continuation from last season's cliffhanger. I really liked the way they handled Lex on the island. The start of the fight between Clark (on Red Kryptonite) and Jonathan was very cool too. Definitely a good episode!

2. Phoenix (Part 2)
Clark gives up the ring and its effects rather then kill his father, and both he and the rescued Lex return to Smallville. Clark must deal with crime lord Morgan Edge, who has followed him to Smallville, while Lex must determine who tried to have him killed - Lionel or Helen.

My Thoughts:
This episode starts with the continued fight between Clark and Jonathan. This episode tells us what actually happened on the plane that left Lex stranded on a deserted island. I thought they put that all together very well... another really good episode.

3. Extinction
Clark discovers someone is hunting people affected by the kryptonite rocks and the killer's next target is Lex. Clark uses his powers to save Lex, but is caught off guard when the killer learns his weakness and shoots him with a kryptonite bullet.

My thoughts:
This is another episode I liked a lot. There really is some pretty cool special effects in this show. I really liked how they did Clark getting shot by the kryptonite bullet and how the green veins from the wound spread as Jonathan tried to remove the bullet. I swear those needle nosed pliers into his shoulder fishing for the bullet looked painful!

4. Slumber
Clark dreams he is being pursued by a frightened young girl who needs his help. However, after he discovers she is actually a comatose neighbor who should have woken up years ago, he enlists Lana's help to uncover the truth which puts Lana in grave danger.

My thoughts:
This is a great episode... up there with my favorites. I liked the look of "The Traveler" in this one.... had a real Grim Reaper feel to him.

Season 3: Disc 2:
5. Perry
Perry White, a once promising journalist whose career was destroyed by Lionel Luthor, arrives in Smallville in search of alien stories for a tabloid news show. In spite of being constantly inebriated, Perry believes he has witnessed Clark using his extraordinary speed, so he devises a dangerous scheme to expose Clark's superpowers.

My Thoughts:
Perry was a pretty good episode... though not as good as I was expecting it to be. I do think that Michael McKeon did a good job a a young Perry White.

6. Relic
Clark discovers that Jor-El was on Earth forty years ago. Lana's great uncle, who was convicted of murdering his wife forty years ago, shows her a picture of the man he believes really killed her aunt, and she is shocked to discover the drifter looks just like Clark.

My Thoughts:
This was never one of my favorite episodes. It is ok... but I think it could have been better. It was kind of an interesting idea that Jor-El was on Earth before sending Clark.

7. Magnetic
Clark is suspicious when Lana suddenly becomes attracted to a fellow student and begins to act rebelliously, which eventually lands her in jail.

My Thoughts:
Again.... I really wasn't that impressed with this episode.  I don't know... just didn't hold my interest very much.

8. Shattered
Lex locates Morgan Edge and gets him to admit to dirty dealings with Lionel, but before Lex can take it to the authorities, someone tries to kill him at the mansion.

My Thoughts:
Well... seems like this whole disc didn't do too much to impress me. I don't know... just didn't care for the whole drive Lex crazy arc.  Anyway out of these four episodes I liked Perry the best. At least the next disc has a couple I really did enjoy!

Season 3: Disc 3:

9. Asylum
Three of Clark's former opponents approach Lex to enlist his help in luring Clark to the hospital after they hear that Lionel has requested Lex be given electroshock therapy to erase his memory.

My Thoughts:
This was a good episode. I like that you get to see some of the past Freak of the Weeks... of course we once again get someone that learns and then forgets Clark's secret.

10. Whisper
Attempting to stop a robbery, Clark is temporarily blinded when he shoots off a burst of heat vision that is accidentally reflected back into his eyes by a piece of kryptonite and soon realizes his body has developed super-hearing to compensate for his lack of sight.

My Thoughts:
This is one of the ones I really like... of course this is the one where he gets his new power of the season. In this episode... I believe the only episode?... we get to meet Pete's mother... the judge when Pete gets kidnapped so that his mother don't send someone to jail.

11. Delete
Clark and Lana each make an attempt on Chloe's life for unknown reasons after they receive a mysterious e-mail from the Summerholt Institute.

My Thoughts:
This is another good episode. It has a lot of great action in it. I especially liked when Lana went after Chloe... that was a decent fight scene.

12. Hereafter
Clark discovers that his schoolmate Jordan can foresee the future, but is horrified when Jordan tells him he "sees" Lana dying in a fire in the next few days

My Thoughts:
I would say this is just a basic good episode... nothing too special here... but enjoyable. Was interesting when Jordan said he seen that Clark is different... that he didn't see his death like he won't die or something.

Yeah I liked this "Warp flight" scene too, where you only see the red cape and the S.

But it also made me sad. A long life can be an interesting thing. But to live forever? See your friends die over and over again? And what when for some reason SMan cannot prevent the human race dies out? Then he will be alone...

Very true... like the scene of Clark alone surrounded by graves of all his friends that we saw in the scene when the old lady blind psychic touched Clark.

Definitely seems like something that sounds good to start with... but could really be a curse in disguise.

Season 3: Disc 4:

13. Velocity
After Pete purposely blows a street race, the thugs that run it threaten his life, so he asks Clark to use his powers to stop them..

My Thoughts:
Good episode.... seemed to be a rip off of Fast & Furious or something like that... but it was right good. I enjoyed it.

14. Obsession
Clark is forced to use his powers in front of Alicia, a new girl at school, but he is surprised to find out she has powers of her own.

My Thoughts:
A decent episode...though unlike many of the people I know... I never cared for Alicia... in neither of the episodes that she was in.

15. Resurrection
While his father is awaiting surgery, Clark befriends a young boy, Garrett whose brother Vince just died from liver failure. However, everyone is shocked when Vince shows up alive and seemingly well - until his liver starts failing again.

My Thoughts:
This one was a good episode. Seems like the idea of this one came from the movie John Q.... but was enjoyable all the same.

16. Crisis
Clark receives a panicked call from Lana and hears a gunshot before the line goes dead, but when he arrives at the Talon he is stunned to discover she is alive and well.

My Thoughts:
Another good episode... One I had to put in spoilers because the synopsis doesn't talk about it and didn't want to spoil it for any one reading... Thanks for this Addition Touti! :)

Season 3: Disc 5:

17. Legacy
When Jonathan begins to act strangely, Clark believes Jor-El is sending Jonathan messages through the key and is the cause for his father's withdrawal from the family.

My Thoughts:
This one was a really good episode... the return of Virgil Swann (Christopher Reeve)... a fight between Jonathan Kent and Lionel Luthor...  and the continuation of the arc that divulges Clark's origin. What more can you ask?

18. Truth
When Chloe accidentally inhales a mysterious krypto-gas, she discovers it acts as a truth serum to anyone who comes in contact with her and decides to take advantage of her new power by going to the Kents to find out Clark's secret.

My Thoughts:
This is an episode I liked a lot. In this one there is a few long running questions answered.  I think this episode ranks up there with my favorites. Besides... any reason for a Chloe episode makes me happy! :)

19. Memoria
Believing that key information about his father's past was lost when his memory was erased, Lex decides to join an experimental program with Dr. Garner to regain the information so he can turn his father over to the FBI.

My Thoughts:
This is a good episode... but couldn't call it one of my favorites. It does answer the question of what exactly is it that caused Lex and Lionel to be against each other as badly as they are. It was pretty cool to see Clark's earliest memory of his real mother placing him in the ship.

Season 3: Disc 6:

20. Talisman
When a Kiwatche Indian steals a mythic knife from the caves, he is bestowed with superpowers similar to Clark's, causing the young man to believe he is the legendary Naman, "the man who fell from the stars."

My Thoughts:
This was a pretty good episode. But nothing really stands out in if for me.

21. Forsaken (Part 1)
Clark decides to tell Lana his secret so they can finally be together. Meanwhile, an errant FBI agent kidnaps and tortures Pete to try and force him to reveal Clark's secret.

My Thoughts:
If I am not mistaking.. this is the last we see of Pete... at least I don't remember him coming back... even for a single episode. Though I would like to see him come back even if for only 1 episode. I think it would be cool to see some sort of follow up on him. Really good episode.

22. Covenant (Part 2)
Things come to a head in Smallville when Kara, a beautiful girl with superpowers, who claims to be from Krypton, comes to entice Clark to fulfill his destiny.

My Thoughts:
This was an excellent episode... even with the "fake" Kara. I still remember the first time I saw this one... was so outraged that they would kill off Chloe!  All the cliffhangers for this season was really good!

Over-All Season 3 Thoughts:
Over-all I would say this season was a really good one... even if a little unbalanced with a handful of episodes that could have been better. In my opinion the series is still going strong at th end of the 3rd season!

Season 4: Disc 1:

1. Crusade
Clark returns to Smallville re-programmed as Kal-El. Intent on fulfilling his destiny, Kal-El takes to the skies to steal a powerful kryptonite crystal. Determined to save her son, Martha turns to Dr. Swann's emissary, Bridgette Crosby, and learns about a surprising new form of kryptonite. Meanwhile, Lois Lane comes to town to investigate the murder of her cousin Chloe.

My Thoughts:
This was a really good episode. Another guest star from the Superman movies... Margot Kidder as Bridgette Crosby. This is also our first look at Smallville's version of Lois Lane. This is the first look we get at the flying on Smallville... even if it is supposed to be "Kal-El" instead of Clark. The flying effects was pretty cool.

2. Gone
Clark and Lois Lane investigate Chloe's apparent murder, but are stopped by an army officer, General Sam Lane, who turns out to be Lois' father. Lois suspects that Sam knows more about Chloe's death than he will admit, and Clark discovers that Sam has recently been in contact with Lex.

My Thoughts:
Of course I liked this episode since I am a Chloe fan... Chloe is back in this episode! I liked the assassin that was after Chloe in this one... yes a rip-off of Terminator 2 (Liquid metallic man who turns his arm into a sword)... but cool all the same.

3. Facade
Clark faces a surprising new foe in the form of a shy high school girl who turns to plastic surgery to enhance her looks and boost her popularity. However, things go awry when she discovers that her kryptonite - enhanced beauty causes harm to anyone she kisses.

My Thoughts:
This one is not one of my favorites. There is just nothing special about the episode. It is just a basic "Freak of the Week" episode  Not that that makes it a bad episode... it is enjoyable... just nothing special or memorable about it.

4. Devoted
Clark joins the football team at school and is immediately given the starting quarterback position after the old quarterback starts a fight with new coach Jason. Curious about the behavior change in his old teammate, Clark and Lois investigate and discover that the cheerleaders are poisoning the teams' water with kryptonite, turning the players into Stepford-like boyfriends.

My Thoughts:
This one is much like the last episode... just another decent episode.... but nothing really special. this is the one where Lois Lane gets her first taste of being a reporter... other then that just a basic... good episode.

Season 4: Disc 2:

5. Run
After Jonathan's wallet is stolen, Clark super-speeds after the thief but is stunned when he cannot catch him. The thief, Bart, a.k.a. The Flash, later shows up at the farm and tries to talk Clark into leaving Smallville for a life on the road together, flexing their super powers.

My Thoughts:
Definitely one of my favorites... the first other DC Comics superhero shows up in Smallville... The Flash! Was a fun episode... seeing him start out as a thief was a little weird to me... but that is cool... I think the storyline worked out great.

6. Transference
Clark hears a painful ringing sound in his ears and is drawn to the prison where Lionel is being held. When he sees Lionel attempt to stab Lex with a strange glowing stone, Clark grabs for the stone causing the two men to switch bodies.

My Thoughts:
I actually enjoyed this one more then I expected to. I thought they did a good job on the story. but I wouldn't say it is a favorite of mine... just a good basic episode that brings the main arc further along.

7. Jinx
Chloe is drawn into an underground gambling ring at school run by foreign exchange student Mikail Mxyzptlk and loses her savings on a football game after Mxyzptlk uses his powers to control all the players - including Clark.

My Thoughts:
This one didn't impress me all that much... I mean it was ok... but I was left feeling disappointed... mainly because they changed the character Mxyzptlk too much. He was supposed to be a prankster being from another dimension... not some exchange student with a hidden ability.

8. Spell
After Lana reads from a spell book written in the 1600s, she, Lois and Chloe become possessed by witches that had been burned at the stake. The three witches have come back seek revenge and search for the powerful Kryptonian crystals, wreaking havoc on the town in the process.

My Thoughts:
This is an episode that I know most people didn't like... but I enjoyed every minute of it.I thought the story-line was a fun one... and the fact that all 3 of the girls looked absolutely HOT while being possessed by the witches didn't hurt matters either!

Season 4: Disc 3:

9. Bound
After Lex is accused of killing a young woman, Clark sets out to prove his innocence and turns to an unlikely source for help - Lionel.

My Thoughts:
This one is pretty good. the thing I really liked about this one is it has a decent mystery story to it.

10. Scare
Lex's secret experiment at Luthorcorp goes awry and causes a dangerous toxin to be released into Smallville. Those infected by the toxin, including Clark , Lana, Lex, and Jason imagine their greatest fears come true and then fall into a coma.

My Thoughts:
This was a little strange but awesome episode! Of course dealing with nightmares you got to expect it to be a little on the strange side. Definitely enjoyed every second of it. You also learn what happen with Chloe's mom in this episode.

11. Unsafe
Claiming to be cured, Alicia is released from Belle Reve hospital and comes to Smallville to rekindle her relationship with Clark.

My Thoughts:
A decent episode... but not one of my favorites. again... I never cared for the character of Alicia... and this time she slips him some Red Kryptonite

12. Pariah
Lana and Jason are attacked and almost killed by an unseen assailant and Alicia seems to be the prime suspect.

My Thoughts:
This one I liked... but mainly for the fact that Chloe learns Clark's secret. One thing I liked about how Chloe found out is the fact that she went on letting him think she didn't know. It made for some fun situations and comments and such.

Disc 4:

13. Recruit
In an effort to recruit Clark for their football team, Met U sends their star player Geoff to show Clark the "perks" of attending Met U. However, after one of Met U's players dies under mysterious circumstances and Lois is arrested for his murder, Clark discovers that Geoff has super powers and is using them to paralyze anyone who gets in his way - including Lois.

My Thoughts:
This was a good episode... though nothing special about it. I think that this episode was made just for a reason for Clark to quit football.

14. Krypto
While driving, Lois accidentally hits a dog and brings it back to the farm to heal. Clark realizes this is no ordinary dog after the pup lifts up a car to retrieve a ball.

My Thoughts:
Decent episode... nothing to special about it... I think this episode was no more then a nod Superboy's pet dog from Krypton. Even though they really changed it up for this series big time.

15. Sacred
After learning that Jason and Lex are in China searching for one of the mysterious kryptonian crystals, Clark and Lana follow in the hopes of finding it first.

My Thoughts:
This is one of the mythology episodes. Not a great one... but it was good. For the second time... Lana gets possessed by the witch in this episode.

16. Lucy
Lois' younger sister, Lucy, with whom Lois doesn't get along, comes to town and charms everyone she meets.

My Thoughts:
This is just another basic good episode. Aside from meeting Lois' sister there is nothing really special here.
(click to show/hide)
The first time I saw this episode I was thinking if she comes back it would be a new love interest for Clark... what with the way they flirted... but at this point I doubt we ever see her again. I did like her... so I would like to see an update to her storyline before the series ends.

Season 4: Disc 5:

17. Onyx
A glimpse of the future Lex Luthor is revealed after a kryptonite explosion splits Lex in two and his evil side - Alexander - is released.

My Thoughts:
This one was also a good episode. It was cool to see just how evil Lex could get... or for that matter just how good he could have been.

18. Spirit
A stunned Chloe is nominated for Prom Queen and tries to talk a reluctant Clark and Lana into attending the dance with her. However, after her rival Dawn, a wannabe Prom queen, crashes her car into a ravine filled with kryptonite, Dawn's spirit is released and she enters the bodies of the others making them act out of character.

My Thoughts:
This episode I liked a lot! A Smallville ghost story.... and I love ghost stories! Chloe learns a little more about Clark... this time she learns that the meteor rocks can harm/kill Clark.

19. Blank
Kevin, a boy who can cause people to temporarily lose their memory, turns his powers on Clark and causes him to have total amnesia. Chloe discovers what has happened and must teach Clark about his superpowers while simultaneously trying to keep him from accidentally revealing them to others.

My Thoughts:
This is actually one of my favorite episodes. It was really cool to see Chloe explain to him about his abilities. Telling him she believes he was effected by the meteor rocks. Again Chloe learns more about Clark's powers... this time she learns of his Super Hearing, Heat Vision and X-Ray Vision. I thought it was hilarious when she learned of his X-Ray Vision she pulls her sweater closed over her chest... afraid Clark my be checking her out!
