All in the Family
« on: September 09, 2008, 12:30:59 AM »
It's been around 35 years (yikes!) since I first saw this TV series. I've had it on my wish list for quite some time and I finally picked up 4 seasons worth last week at Best Buy. There was a TV special, $12.99 for each season, so I picked up all the All in the Family and The Jeffersons they had on sale.

I just finished watching the first 3 seasons of All in the Family and I can't wait to start the 4th. Archie, one of the main characters, is so politically incorrect I just love him. This series is as good, no it is better, than I remember. I was quite surprised with how relevent the material still is even after so many years. If you haven't seen this series I would recommend you do.

That series was "remade" in Germany back in the time and has still quite a substantial cult following today.

One standout moment comes instantly to mind:
The father (Alfred, as he's called in Germany) cuts his toe nails at the coffee table. On of the cut pieces flies into his wife's cup. He says to here that there is nothing to worry about, as he's just had a bath and the nail is all clean... :hysterical:

You know... I have no idea why... as it is a great classic sitcom... but I stopped collecting this series after Season 2.
