I would think that couldn't happen. If MGM do hold the rights they would surely get sold on because they would be worth a fortune.

I doubt Bond will be over. It might take a while until the next one. I might not be a continuation of the last two movies (thus not completing the Trilogy they were setting up), heck it might not even have Craig. But it is highly unlikely that there will be no more Bond films.

I had heard even before the mess with MGM got worse that the story started in Casino Royale was finished in Quantum of Solace.  I think Craig even said in an interview there wasn't going to be a trilogy.  I thought he also said he was hoping for the introduction of Q and Moneypenny.

It does seem like the right would be sold..though I swear I read somewhere that it would be unlikely that would happen if MGM went bankrupt or something...  I think lawsuits were mentioned too.  I think It might have been in one of my Entertainment Weekleys.  I'll have to see if I still have it and what it does say.  I think I did read a few different things about the situation, so I might be remembering stuff wrong.

:hmmmm:

Given my bad memory I may just not remember it good enough. But I thought that I agreed with all the people talking about how the story was not finished, how the ending still had loose ends. Maybe someone with better memory can weigh in.

I would have been happy of Bond had ended with GoldenEye, although Pierce Brosnan might not have been so happy.
I have a collection.
It can be found here.
No need to check it often.
I update it only twice a year!

I liked Pierce Brosnan as Bond...I wouldn't have minded if he had made more Bond movies.

I'm not that...fond of the direction the Craig ones have gone.  Craig is ok...I just don't like how the movies have turned into Bourne wannabes.

Although I like the Bond franchise, there is only be one Bond for me - Sean Connery. Whenever I think of Bond I picture him - always.

Probably on the beach (like in Thunaderball), wearing no more than trunks.
