I have filled in my place-holder.
I am never big on created Top10 lists, as it is hard to rate the movies and say one is better than the other. Particularly to say that 10 specific movies are better than the rest.
The ten entries I have listed now are movies which I never get tired watching and they happen to come to my mind just now.

I would think that most people would adjust their list now, one year later... If anything, a top ten list must allow for stuff one newly discovers or even new films released anytime after today (unlikey though, with all the crap they make these days ). So yes, a top ten list will always be a product of the time.

Yes, only last night I caught the end of one of those stupid list programs, as voted for by the public, and talked about by dozens of no name celebrities: The Greatest TV Endings.

They had all sorts in there. Only Fools and Horses, Buffy, Vicar of Dibley, The Office, Cheers... but what was number one? The Greatest TV Ending Ever! Life on Mars, apparently.  Now, it was very good, but it only finished a couple of years ago. People react to what's right in front of them and can be rather ignorant. Our lists are much better quality!

Although has Pete ever posted his?

English........................but to my credit I do use subtitles instead of dubbing.  When I watch a movie in a language I don't understand I will usually pick english sub-titles because sentences are much shorter in english than in french so I can read faster and still see the movie instead of just concentrating on sub-titles.

Then in certain scenes I don't even read.  For instance the scene in Downfall that was used in the video I posted yesterday,  I don't really care what Hitler says during his rage..............I'm perfectly happy just watching Ganz (or is Gantz ?) performance, I don't need to understand the words.

After a year it's sure that it had change a little.

1. The Opening of Misty Beethoven
2. Through the Looking Glass
3. Cannibal Holocaust
4. Last Summer
5. Score
6. Sometime Sweet Susan
7. I Spit on Your Grave
8. Take Off
9. Angela, The Fireworks Woman
10. Four Times That Night

My #2 is the reason why I think more and more seriously of buying a Blue Ray drive for my computer in a near future. See I can accept the technological change, I just need a really good motivation and the 3 disc set that VCX works on actually remastered for a theatrical print is certainly one.

I'm surprised I missed this until now...it's tough to pick just 10 after all the films I've seen but I'll give it a shot.  These are in no particular order...

1. Rio Bravo
2. The Silence of the Lambs
3. The Searchers
4. Superman (1978)
5. Silverado
6. Who Framed Roger Rabbit?
7. Support Your Local Sheriff
8. Close Encounters of the Third Kind
9. Jaws
10. The Quiet Man

My Top Ten: (as best as I can)

1. Braveheart
2. Shawshank Redemption
3. Ben-Hur
4. Dawn of the Dead (1978)
5. Dances with Wolves
6. Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back
7. Pulp Fiction
8. Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade
9. Unforgiven
10. Saving Private Ryan

This was very difficult and I'm still not certain that this is set in stone. :-\ There are so many films that I love. Narrowing it down to just 10 is near impossible. I do genuinely love these films.  ;D

In no particular order this is a list of favorites, not necessarily "greatest"):

The Abyss
Casablanca
American Graffiti
Fiddler on the Roof
Bridge on the River Kwai
A Few Good Men
Vertigo
Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan
Close Encounters of the Third Kind
Raiders of the Lost Ark
The African Queen
The Lord of the Rings Trilogy

I can only get it down to 12!
