Bones: Season 1
« on: June 21, 2007, 12:42:53 PM »
Here is a quick review for a series I watched a while back ago...

Bones: Season 1
David Boreanaz (Angel, Buffy the Vampire Slayer) stars as F.B.I. Agent Seeley Booth, who teams up with forensic anthropologist Dr. Temperance "Bones" Brennan (Emily Deschanel) to solve some of the most baffling and bizarre crimes ever. Booth depends on clues from the living, witnesses and suspects, while Brennan gathers evidence from the dead, relying on her uncanny ability to read clues left behind in the bones of the victims. Their different investigative styles cause the two to frequently clash, creating an undeniable chemistry and just the right touch of dark humor.

EPISODES:
1. Pilot
2. The Man in the S.U.V.
3. A Boy in a Tree
4. The Man in the Bear
5. A Boy in a Bush

The DVD:

Extras:
2 Commentaries - Pilot & 2 Bodies in the Lab

My Thoughts:
I have enjoyed this show since the Pilot episode first aired on FOX. Bones is smart, action-packed and at times even a bit on the gross side.... and always entertaining! The characters in this show compliment each other so well. It has risen to be one of my favorite current shows. The DVD release was done very well... though I would have rather had 6 single sided DVDs with disc art instead of 4 double sided discs. I think that would be my one and only complaint about this DVD set. If you have never seen Bones before I would have to HIGHLY RECCOMEND checking it out! It is a great set for an awesome show!

Noooooo! My wishlist just grew bigger!!

David Boreanaz (loved him in Buffy/Angel), and a series based around anthropologist Temperance Brenner? Now where's that credit card again .....  ;D

I had never heard of this before, how could that slip under the radar? Actually I know, the name of the series didn't catch my eye so I never even looked further.

Thanks Pete for helping me to spend too much money! :P

LOL... always glad to help, Ross!  ;D

If you use the EPG's there is an awesome one for Bones: Season 1! Also... season 2 will be released on 9/11. :)

Yeah I use the EPG, but usually, I find the "awesome" ones too gimmicky. I prefer simple EPG: a banner/logo at the top, and only text for episode titles and description.

There are a few EPG that I downloaded, but ended up creating my own anyway. One that comes to mind is those for Stargate SG1

Yeah but the text is there! Remove the tables and the screenshots, rework the fonts a little and voilĂ ! I'm happy!  ;D

LOVE BONES!!!!!

Was a huge Buffy/Angel fan so I had to see this when it started. To me David Boreanaz is no longer just Angel. He is now Booth.

The whole cast has really come into their own in the past year or so. You can tell they have fun while doing the show.

Love the books the show is based on - I was a little worried the DVD wouldn't be as good. I'll have to check it out.
