Beyond Reality: Season 1 Beyond Reality chronicles the unique lives of two adventuresome university professors who delve into the mysterious world of the paranormal.
Shari Belafonte stars as Laura Wingate, a parapsychologist who has traveled the world studying different cultures, religions and strange occurances. As the open-minded, witty and outspoken head of a private university's Parapsychology Department, Laura devotes her time to teaching but is constantly distracted investigating paranormal events.
Carl Marotte plays J.J. Stillman, a clinical psychologist who has been trained in the traditional sciences. He is inquisitive, responsible and often overly analytical.
Together, Laura and J.J. apply their combined expertise, curiosity and compassion to investigate the fascinating, extraordinary, but completely plausible world of the paranormal. Is there anyone here familiar with this series. It ran for 2 years on (I believe) Sci-Fi Channel. I bought this set this month and started watching it today. At the beginning of each episode it says that the story is based on actual Paranormal reports (or something to that effect). So far I have watched 5 episodes... and I am really enjoying it. I wouldn't say it is the best TV Series I have ever seen... but it is a good series with some interesting stories... especially if you consider that they are coming from actual paranormal reports.
As I said... so far I watched 5 episodes...
1. The Bridge - a young boy sees the spirit of his father who recently died... and decides he wants to be with him and attempts to commit suicide.
2. Mirror, Mirror - A college student discovers she can go into a parallel universe through a mirror.
3. The Doppleganger - A man has nightmares always starting for a certain address... when they investigate that address there is a man that looks exactly like him.
4. Miracle Worker - A Young man learns he can heal people with just a touch.
5. Return Visit - A young woman's mother, who disappeared 10 years earlier, contacts her through a bolt of light... saying to follow her inner light to meet her. When just starts to walk she finds her father who she hasn't seen for the last 10 years. All happening on a night that there is more UFO sightings in the last 10 years.
As I said... these are supposedly based on actual paranormal cases... I can't say I believe in all that I have seen here... but it is fun... especially with that claim.

Beyond Reality: Season 1 is released by Mill Creek Entertainment... which I have noticed in the past can have spotty picture/sound quality... but this set so far looks great! I am now really hoping that they release the second (final) season soon!
