i purchased a Cyberhome ch-dvd 300 as a second dvd player because it could be "hacked" so if i purchase a dvd from a different region i could play it.

A friend of mine develops and sells modification chips at www.stegen.com
I don't know if this works on R1 players, but Pioneer Benelux sales reps often visit him and he sells his 'software' to a a few large B2C companies in The Netherlands.
His software is also sold in other European countries like Denmark, the UK, Belgium and Germany

Anyone know of a hack for a JVC XV-N332?

My Region-Free CyberHome 300 only lasted a month.  It would go into an endless "Reading" loop when inserting a disc.
That has apparently happened to many folks.
I junked it, because shipping from Canada to California would cost almost as much as I paid for the player.

For Region-Free, I now use a Lasonic brand.

My Panasonic 120 I've had since 1998 and it's still playing discs well.
My Panasonic F87 5-disc changer which I got as a gift in 2005, I'm also extremely happy with.
